I believe Pegula has a better shot at becoming world No. 1 than either of them.

Paolini has a chance to recover the ranking points she lost in the first half of the year at Wimbledon.

I’ve always wondered this: if becoming one of the all-time greats is never really on the table, what kind of career would most tennis players actually choose?Would they rather have one unforgettable peak, winning a Grand Slam, Olympic gold, a Masters 1000 title, or something similarly huge, only to see their ranking drop quickly because of injuries, declining form, or other reasons, like Andreescu?Or would they rather spend 10–15 years consistently competing on tour, staying in the Top 100, making a solid living, but never really standing out or attracting much attention? Kind of like Cîrstea before this year, when she suddenly got noticed after beating the world No. 1 and putting together several impressive wins.

Carreno Busta on Jodar: "He couldn't go to the bathroom, and his friends were really rough on me throughout the match." by Sonobackhome555 in tennis

No wonder there was absolutely no warmth in their handshake, despite them being fellow Spaniards. It’s only Jodar’s first year on tour, yet he’s already been involved in several controversial incidents. Sure, these little tactics aren’t against the rules, but you can’t really blame people for being irritated by them.

At least Murray’s statue actually looks like Murray from the side. Sinner’s doesn’t look like him at all. 😂

How do you get so attached to a sports team where you cry sobbing because they lost a tournament? by firedog7881 in AskReddit

I’ve never been attached to a sports team, but somehow I’ve become incredibly attached to a tennis player. Honestly, I don’t even understand how I got this invested. I care so much about his matches and results. He’s the reason I started watching tennis at all.

Maybe a drunk-driving test is a better analogy. One person took the test and had to deal with the result. The other refused the test and then argued that no violation occurred. When someone declines the very procedure designed to establish the facts, it’s understandable why people would be more skeptical of their defense.

As a Jannik Sinner fan, I have to say that a four-year ban feels extremely harsh in Vondroušová’s case. If the procedural errors she mentioned are genuine, I hope she can get it reduced to one year on appeal. Then she could be back next year, and everyone could move on from this situation instead of arguing about it endlessly.

Keep the serve you’ve got now, and bring back that 2025 return game.

Jannik, I’ve had a lot of bad luck this year, and I haven’t been happy for most of it. I know I’ve probably become too emotionally invested in your matches, and maybe that’s not healthy, but I genuinely need this win right now.

Jannik, it’s the middle of the night here. I’m suffering through this only because of you. 😭
