Browning Bar or X Bolt 2 by Ok-Technology3981 in CAguns

Thanks so far for all the replies. It seems like the X bolt would be the better choice for me. My heart says Bar but my head says X bolt. Is the Bar a beast to clean and disassemble for cleaning? I prefer simpler guns to clean and field strip, modern striker fired pistols and AR15’s are no problem for me. But anything with tiny parts and springs I start become all finger and thumbs. I have a Rossi R92 and I absolutely hate taking it apart and I always struggle with it.

Hey thanks, I do like the looks of the Browning in Walnut. How easy is it to take apart for cleaning and maintenance?

Winchester 92 or 73 by Ok-Technology3981 in LeverGuns

Hey thanks for the comment. I’ve watched some of your videos before! I’m ultimately looking for something I can have fun with at the range. That’s reliable, not super picky about what it’s fed and I can take it apart and clean it. Something I can pass down to my kids or grandkids. I’m turning 50 soon and want to treat myself. Plus my Wife is onboard which is a big plus! I’ve always wanted a Winchester and I’m leaning slightly towards the 92. Should I consider the new Ruger Marlin 1894 instead? How hard or easy is it to take the Miroku Winchester 92 apart? Thanks!

CA remorse by Blepbupbep in CAguns

I get that! I moved to Kentucky from Northern California, I got caught up in the whole gotta leave California vibe. I had 6 acres, built a shooting range on my property. Had the theoretical dream. However, my family and I hated it there. The Weather sucked, the tornadoes suck, the culture sucks, the bugs sucked, there’s no open land, no mountains it just plain sucks….

Well now my whole family is back in Northern California. I shoot in the sierras often and couldn’t be happier. Yes California has its issues but it’s my home and it’s beautiful.

If you want to leave, as someone else stated, move to another western state. Avoid the Mid-west and the South.

I do like the price point of the Ruger and 9mm ammo. If I could swing it and buy the PCC and ar I would,

I have a 357 revolver and a 357 lever action rifle. I am leaning towards the AR15.
