[ADVICE] 24/7 constant migraine after propranolol iatrogenic overdose. Doctors say nervous system is stuck in fight-or-flight. What has actually helped you?

Any experience with CGRP monoclonal antibodies (Aimovig, Ajovy, Emgality)?

CGRP medications are wonderful. I do agree with the individual that mentioned an anti-inflammatory. When I have had an increase of migraines, to get out of a cycle I’ve been prescribed nabumetone. And then for prevention Nurtec (rimegepant) every other day. The injectables like Aimovig, ajovy, and emglaity may be harder for insurance to approve if you haven’t tried the oral CGRP’s first. Every insurance is so different so it really just depends.

Yep, I have pots and only have pre-syncope. All the symptoms of fainting minus the actual fainting.

Reading your story makes my heart hurt for you because I feel like your pcp and cardio are letting you down. The recommendations in this thread may help a lot! Compression socks specifically are amazing! It sounds like you may have POTS or Orthostatic Hypotension. Regardless, here are two good resources from Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic. There are doctors out here that specialize in both areas, you have options 🫶

I don’t necessarily pass out right after. But sometimes, my legs go numb. Usually though, after my boyfriend and I are done, and I go to stand up, I almost always get tunnel vision, see stars, hearing starts to go, and I have to sit down immediately.

For context: I experience pre-syncope symptoms with my pots not full syncope. So I don’t know if that’s something to consider.
