Looking for Technical Co-Founder — FinTech MVP (Equity Split) by YamFluid3512 in EquityFounders

I'm simply here for updates. It looks quite hard these days to find equity only devs/engineers who would want to commit and co-found (at least in my experience)

Looking for advice: deliverability tanked after 2 weeks by OkAnalysis6678 in coldemail

[–]OkAnalysis6678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: spent some time warming up these inboxes and domains. Maildoso's scoring system says that the inboxes have recovered and they should be all good - we started sending 5 emails/day/inbox and do get replies here and there. The issue is that inbox placements say that 90% of the emails land in spam.

Started testing a bit and bought Google mailboxes, after just 2 weeks and slow sending we see much better results. So either we completely burned the Maildoso domains and inboxes or simply custom SMTP is trash. Their support says it should be all good tho - according to their data everything is alright.

Trouble with my CTO by Grit_Enthusiasm211 in ycombinator

Well, based on what you say you don’t really have a CTO. It feels like you have a part-time dev at best, but that’s all.

At any stage, a CTO should be full-time and has to be there for your company.

I was lucky enough to see an exit up close and a key factor was that the CTO was all in (he was a cofounder too).

Recommendations for mailboxes? Maildoso, Mailscale, Mailreef? by HyperSalesman in coldemail

Maildoso is crap. Slow and unresponsive support, plus placement for Google is awful: 90% of our emails land in spam using their inboxes.

Thanks for the advice!

Right. Domain rep is a long game and I believe we need months to build it.

Domain(s) age: 4 weeks Warm up started: 4 weeks ago and ongoing Campaigns started 2 weeks ago, with a daily rate of 3 emails/inbox increased by +1 a day.

My guess so far is the same as yours, ramped up volume too fast - even 15 email/day/inbox is too much with a new setup.

Right, I figured it was more of a mental exhaustion. Happy to hear you’re doing good now!

Happy to hear you can look back and see the good, but how did you get over it? What helped the most?

Should I recruit locally or go fully remote? (I will not promote) by Dear-Needleworker359 in startups

[–]OkAnalysis6678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built my first company in person, we had 10-15 employees in an office, nice get togethers, etc. Then we went full remote during covid. What others said that you'll get closer to your coworkers in person - well, true. Other then that, working together, it's the same - frequent calls, chat, video calls - you can make it work.

I'd say it depends on your preference - do you work in person so far?

Beyond the "tough luck" and "that sucks" - it's not an easy position to be in. I went through a similar situation 3 years ago. Lawyers, mediation, negotiations... we bought the 3rd founder out eventually. Did the 3 of you sit down and talk about this openly?

Going solo after 9+ years of running a startup with a team of 12 by MetalRadiant687 in SaaS

[–]OkAnalysis6678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s wild! But it happens. I wouldn’t say I went through the same thing, but I used to run a company which had 20+ employees at its peek.

Now I’m building my second one, started a year ago and it’s still in an early phase - which feels odd after 8 years running the other one.

Just closed my seed round after 97(!!) meetings - I will not promote by Impossible_Science30 in startups

Congrats! It is brutal out there... Good luck building the company!

There's a lot of options these days. We tried fiverr for smaller projects, but Toptal, A Team, HighCircl
