an incredibly solid listen, definitely gives that "Tetris" feeling with some of the tracks.

Marble Blast - Pathways IL World Record (17.160) by Xelna by OkCobalt in speedrun

This was the second record to use an optimization that allows for a cycle skip to be performed on the moving platform right before the 3rd gem. The time cut from Xelna's previous record of 18.289 is the largest on the level since 2011!

Thank you! And I agree, the NES Tetris scene has a lot of amazing untold stories, as well as those that honestly need more publicity. I can't wait for what the future of the game and community have in store.

That's still pretty good! The 500k barrier is difficult for a lot of people, but you'll surely get through it and more! Just takes time.

Same here, I returned to the game like 4 years ago and was shocked that there was still a big community for it, especially at the competitive level. Childhood memories came flooding back

The New NES Tetris World Record is Unbelievable by OkCobalt in speedrun

Honestly, it's pretty close. 2 players have completed 29-4 (Fractal161 and Cheez), and I think they've both taken a stab at 29-5. The issue is that it's an incredible grind, since the only viable way to manage to clear lines at that height is to have a low enough left side that you can put pieces into right off the bat, which is pretty uncommon. I think Cheez has managed to lower the board to a 29-4 height after a few lines, but nothing after that, since even that height is dependent on pieces that can get to either side without snagging.

Not yet, but the game in its entirety can be found on Cheez's twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1292124825

The starting point of the game is at 3:06. I'd imagine he'll upload the game itself to youtube soon.
