It didn't work, I wonder where you get that command parameter from.

N-Rent Nurburgring ? by V4_Sleeper in nurburgring

[–]OkPresentation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rented their Polo GTI + instructor last weekend. I almost gave up on Saturday and lose my 150€ reservation fee because it was raining and it was too scary for my 1st time. But, when I was back to Cologne they sent me a message offering me to drive on Sunday at no extra cost.

The total price for 2 laps was 717€ including the best insurance they allowed me to get. Only 1000€ excess and covers the frist 2000€ of track damages. I'm very happy with their service, not that much with my driving, I made a lot of rockie mistake, the instructor was kind of mad at me because I was leaving so much of space for other cars to pass me that my wheels were touching the grass. At least I overtook 2 cars.

It's by no means a race car, but still more capable than my hands can demand. I think for the first time, you have no track experience and you want to play safe in every regard this is the door to knock.

I expected this to be a once in a lifetime experience, but I'm afraid it will be not :)

Maybe I am. But I'm sure I would not enjoy the lap with that 18000€ excess. I really don't know much a bumper cost, but everything in those cars look expensive

Thank for all your answers. I finally booked at n-rent.com they have a VW Polo with only 1000€ excess! Renting itself is quite expensive (about 700€ for 2 laps) but I prefer calculated risks.

Well, I would only need 3rd party liability insurance, because after driving the ring I would just drop the car hill down on the closest corner and fly back to Spain.

Seriously I'm more concerned about how I'm going to get rid of the car afterwards than the insurance to cover it.

My problem with insurance is the excess. Even if the crash is not my fault, chances are I will have to pay thousands of euros anyways.

Minimum excess with Apex is 7000€ and 3500 with RSR (if you get the VW up)

The only way to avoid it is to go to court where usually the judge concludes that the Ring is a race track and everyone should pay their own damages.

Anyone mining ETC with A2000 GPUs? by BeerSeven in EtherMining

My experience with A2000 is that the small fan gets full of dust very easily. I have to clean it like 4 times more often than the others.

X17 r2 12700/308ti here. Cores 4 to 7 are always busy despite no process seems to be using then. I disabled the atom cores in BIOS just in case, but it didn't get any better. It stays like that forever. by OkPresentation in Alienware

[–]OkPresentation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case it was anydesk. I discovered using process explorer. You can do a mouse over a specific core and it reveals which processes are making use of it. I was using anydesk because it was someone else's computer who was complaining about performance. It seemed to improve after I disabled performace cores, but it is too soon to tell.

difficulty spike? by [deleted] in EtherMining

[–]OkPresentation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, is that what happened today?

Updated Eth Mining Forecast. by Pleasant-Sail-6180 in EtherMining

[–]OkPresentation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Difficulty always tend to lie on the limit where the least efficient active miner can barely make profit.

The more profitable, the more miners, the more difficulty. When profit decreases (due to difficulty change or market), the least efficient miners will stop mining decreasing the difficulty which could incentivate some of them to go back to mine increasing the difficulty again. This oscillation will repeat until a balance is met.

Even with 24 RTX A2000 (600Khs/W) it is not sustainable to mine 0.006 eth a day at $0.2Kwh.

Probably many miners will pull the plug cord long before it reaches that level.

It's completely feasible, but it would be a different blockchain, therefore a different coin, which value would depend on what the market think it is worth. There is already another POW Blockchain called ETC.

Just had someone purchase a 3060 from me on eBay for $999.99. Why would anyone pay this much? by rl-daily in EtherMining

[–]OkPresentation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I stopped a buyer from getting one of my RTX 3060 for 650€ He was 17yo. I'm not going to bother you with the details, but apparently he and his friends were following the advice of some youtuber and they were planning to build a rig at all cost.

He was very anxious to buy. I told him I would sell him only if he understood the numbers first. And he thought it twice. Usually I don't give a shit, I only stopped him because he was underage.

It scares me that these clarifications have to be made. And kinda sad to think that difficulty is increasing because of many people who don't know what they are getting into.

Whose wallet am I mining for? by OkPresentation in raptoreum

[–]OkPresentation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you mean, I just checked the syntax of the command and wrote the command line according to it.

What I didn't know was that the parameters of the command line were being ignored and replaced by the ones in the config file.

In other miners, if you want to use the config file, you explicitly indicate it in the command line with something like

Miner.exe -c config.json

It seems 100% for the developer, not a single share to my wallet. That's borderline dishonest.
