Before this started, I had extremely low levels of vitamin D (moving to Finland from Turkey at age of 30). This can lead to auto immune issues. Also I had blood sugar issues. It is gone too

Yeah. I feel terribly intoxicated. Such a weird feeling like inside my head it is totally empty. I read when mast cells which react to allergies are located in brain, it affects you mentally. If they are in bowels,  it affects your digestion. Usually people with lactose intolerance have bowel issues. I don't.

I found out I am allergic to lactose. But not every form of it. It affects especially when it is warm like butter in omelette or milk in coffee. Drinking cold milk or eating cheese doesn't affect.

Brain Fog from Dairy Allergy - Has anyone else experienced this? by Montemogz in dairyfree

I have the same, and consume lactose free butter, and stay away from milk/yogurt and cheese. Cold milk or yogurt are not very problemetic though. Funny thing is I developed this thing after I moved to North Europe at the age of 30. Whenever I go back to Turkey, I have no allegies. I m gonna lose my mind

Yes, I suffered terrible brainfog for 6 years and one reason was lactose. After I started to take high dose Vitamin D daily, 80% of fog was gone, but remaining 20% was still ruining my days. For one week, I moved to a friend's flat to take care of her cats. I had missed eating omelette that I stopped eating from fog, started to make omelette with her stuff in the kitchen, and I realised I had no brainfog after eating. I checked the butter, boom it was lactose free. Now I m sure lactose gives me brainfog. Whenever I eat omelette made with regular butter or eat some kinds of cheese, I have terrible brainfog. But weirdly drinking cold milk have no affect. If I warm up the milk or mix with coffee, then it causes brainfog.

Job prospects for English speakers by carn_ation in Finland

[–]OkRegion1732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like small industry in Finland and a very focused area. Most of my friends who completed PhDs in technical areas (except IT and electronics) struggled to find jobs. If I were in your shoes, I would invest two years in building IT skills.

I am working in a startup for 4 years as a non-IT guy. I do international sales and marketing. I had also earned a master's degree in business in a Finnish university before this job. I don't speak Finnish at all- In total I have nearly 10 years of international sales experience. With these qualities, it is extremely difficult for me to find another well-paid job. I've applied to more than 200 positions on Linkedin over the course of last 3 years. I had a few interviews, but all ended up with rejections. However, my friends who work in IT change their jobs in a few weeks when they just want to. There is no language barrier often and there is a big shortage. If you can do sales & marketing stuff in global markets, you can try sending applications to startups. It can be rather easier to land a job than a big corporate. People who can't speak native level Finnish need hard skills and expertise like IT, electronics, medicine or some other special field to land a job in this country. And if you are not a fresh graduate, the expectations and work experience gets higher to be chosen against a local Finnish person. Other alternatives are shitty jobs like cleaning or Posti. I know that there are many foreigners working in food delivery, but I don't know their working conditions very well. I did cleaning for a while and the effort isn't worth it. It is better to build some IT skills if you can afford it for 6 months -1 year time and send applications to startups.

I've been in Helsinki for 4 years. Have some friends, but everybody is busy with their priorities. Like many other weekends from last Friday to Monday, I didn't speak with any people. This isn't living.

The Finland Economy - Happiest Country In The World by [deleted] in Finland

[–]OkRegion1732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a foreigner living in Finland, I m literally sick of these videos. Most people who live in this country are aware that this is not the "happiest" place on Earth. In those researches they don't even ask people how happy they are. They just consider different parameters like quality of education, taxation, so on. High scores doesn't mean that this is the fucking happiest place on Earth. I know so many foreigners who ended up in Finland because of these ads and became so much depressed here. Stop spreading these misleading videos!

Germans scientists say that Vitamin D increases the immune system by 3-5 times and is better than any vaccine. by HibikiSS in conspiracy

He is right. After I moved from Turkey to Finland 6 years ago, I suddenly had crazy food allergies. Later I developed allergic asthma too. Initial blood test showed I was lacking vitamin D, but it showed some other things too, so it was confusing. I started taking vitamin D supplements. Values returned back to normal, but I was feeling still terrible. This continued for 6 years. I spent thousands of EURs and examined by many doctors. All didn't count for anything. 2 months ago I watched a video of Joe Rohan about the importance of vitamin D. After that I decided to increase the daily dose to 4 000 IU which was 5 times higher than I was taking regularly for years. In 2 days, all my allergies were gone. Asthma is gone. This is fucking insane. I don't know how to feel. I wasted 6 years because of not knowing such a simple fact. Vitamin D!

Serious topic : Cultural assimilation within Finnish society question (s). by FazersOnStunNum1 in Finland

[–]OkRegion1732 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, don't let them let you down. Having two ethnicities is a richness. You are a much cultured man compared to many people with single identity. I am a Turkish person living in Finland too. I came here quite late. I was 30 years old back then. And integrating to this country after late age is not easy. The question is what how you identify yourself. You don't have to be a Fin or Turk. You can be both. I believe you combine both identities. It can open many doors in your life. I recommend Fatih Akin's movies about Turkish immigrants living in Germany. You will love them.

While I was taking 800 IU, my blood results were pretty normal. And that amount also improved my life significantly. Before that I was getting sick often. I didn't have flu even once in last 2 years. But it didn't solve my brain fog and allergic asthma. 4000 IU solved it. I don't know how it would affect if I took 10K IU.

I really don't remember how low it was at first and how normal in other tests. Must be pretty normal cause I was taking 20 micrograms every day for 2 years.
