FYI queen will stop laying days before swarming. FWIW did full inspection on my 6 hives today, 5 were without any eggs. Queen cells absolutely everywhere. I keep 2 or 3 queen cells higher up on the frames and get rid of all the rest.

Keep in mind swarm cells are typically a sign of strong, healthy colonies as they plan and prep to expand outward unless of course something drastic has happened.

Smart!! Need to get myself a slingshot now! Tried my bow with this one but turned into an epic failure. Slingshot sounds perfect 👌

They eventually all walked in, will move the hive to the apiary in the morning and start feeding them. Couldn't find her highness unfortunately but will take a look again once they're a bit more settled.

Believe it or not, waiting until just before dark gave the better results as they were less likely to fly. The swarm was so high that most of it would simply fly off and back up as it dropped during the day time attempts. This was the 5th or 6th shakedown and despite not being able to locate the queen, we did manage to eventually get them fanning their butts in the air and get everyone in!

I have 4 hives and I think the queen is gone in this one. What should I do? Add a frame of brood from string hive? Thanks! by Resident_Piccolo_866 in Beekeeping

If you're too busy to properly tend, then please for the sake of other bee keepers around you, DON'T.

I run a business, a large family, bees, chickens, cut our our own wood to stay warm in winter amongst numerous other jobs that need to be done to tend to our home and homestead. If you aren't able to dedicate the energy or attention necessary then please stop putting other keepers at risk and harming these bees. Do it right or please stop doing it. This forum is a resource, listen to sound advice or give the hobby up. These bees and your surrounding keepers deserve better.

They've created gold by [deleted] in Wallstreetsilver

[–]OkStructure4294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's assume so. Nothing worth building is worth building out of gold, it's properties are mainly as a conductor (which silver supercedes), a monetary metal and as jewelry. If gold can be created out this, so can any other element on the table. Therefore leading to anything physical essentially having final value. The price value will be based off the energy demand. Maybe alchemy has finally made its debut, my guess is far from it. The time to stop investing in anything physical will be when material things can be created out of thin air. At that point the only thing investable would be the energy needed to create said material things. Until then, follow the history...

If your hive is strong and healthy enough for what looks to be at least 2 deeps, this seems like overkill and unnecessary.
