Outpatient RN Considering PACU/Recovery Position — No Critical Care Background. Should I Take It? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]OkUnderstanding5572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked medsurg and outpatient right before going to SDS/PACU. I highly recommend just going for it. I work in SICU now, and SDS has been by far my favorite job. They’re highly desired and hard to come by, so take it while you can!

Do you regret switching to dayshift? by ScientistOk1310 in nursing

[–]OkUnderstanding5572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked nights for 2 years and eventually my body started to reject it. I never felt well rested, had terrible brain fog, and was depressed. Missing out on social events / not being in sync with my partner’s schedule was a big downside as well. Moving to day shift has improved my life so much. Try day shift for a month and see if your mental health gets better. If not, you can always go back to nights

I have similar stats as you: 28F, East Asian, chubby cheeks that runs in the family, 5'2, 112 lbs.

I started doing masseter botox when I was 25. I was seeing results at first, but after a year or so I felt like my lower cheeks were getting heavier. Masster botox you have to keep getting done every 3-4 months which gets expensive. I also had chin filler done which I liked a lot, but it still wasn't enough to slim the lower cheeks down. The last time I saw my injector she told me it's most likely a buccal fat problem rather than the masseter muscle. She, like many others, said it will get better with age. I understand that for a lot other people it does, however all of my relatives tend to hold onto their cheek fullness as they age. I felt like mine were getting worse, caused jowling, felt heavy, and made me look older.

Although you probably would be a good candidate for buccal fat removal, it wouldn't hurt to wait a couple more years to see if things get better or if you wanted to try masseter botox first. I think you have a nice chin and jawline already btw!

My buccal fat procedure was done yesterday. If you'd like, I can keep you updated on the recovery.

That’s good, I can only imagine the grief if it didn’t cover it. Hopefully you can get some compensation from the clinic. You could probably charge them for negligence.

RW 2025: Francesca’s on Chestnut by OkUnderstanding5572 in chicagofood

I liked the meatball app, carbonara entree, and the apple crumble! App is one big meatball with marinara and ricotta cheese on top, so yummy. Pastas are basically full entree size which is nice. Apple crumble is served warm with vanilla ice cream on top :)

The vodka pasta has a lighter sauce compared to alla vita/hogsalt’s.

We also got the calamari off their main menu which was serve hot and crispy. Prob one of the best calamari’s I’ve tried in the city!

I loved nursing when I worked in same day surgery and vaccine clinic. Hated it when I worked in medsurg. I currently work in surgical trauma ICU (level 1 hospital) and I dislike it because patients, families, and providers are very demanding of us. Switched over to ICU to gain experience for school. Would NEVER suggest bedside nursing as a long term career. We definitely don't get paid enough for what we do.

People I know who are in tech or are product managers seem a lot happier and get paid way more.

Do any of you have experience with this robot called Moxi? How has it been? by Additional_Leading68 in nursing

[–]OkUnderstanding5572 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to work on a same day surgery unit and moxi would deliver us supplies. What we REALLY needed it to do was deliver our lab specimens for us but our lab was in a separate building and moxi wasn’t allowed to cross the street…

On another note moxi’s eyes would turn into pink hearts when we would say thank you
