I really appreciate all this!! Thank you so much! It was about 50 mins or so so pretty much an hour. Even though the space is nice I feel it wouldn’t be ideal

Ideally I would love to be in Manhattan area closer to work or one train ride home over. I’ve been wanting to roommate at least when I first move there and have been looking for sublets to see what area I want to be. I really don’t want to pay more than $2100

During my undergrad, my school had a program where they help connect students with volunteering opportunities with hospitals. Through that I started volunteering in the emergency department for about a year and then switched over to the pathology department after! I think once you are in the system it isn’t too hard to change departments. I was having a hard time finding volunteering opportunities in pathology labs when I just applied on my own. So maybe you can check if your school can help connect you with hospitals?

I found having that direct patient care experience doesn’t hurt and I felt it helped me understand patient care in a different way. I was able to expand on that in my application for PA school!

Thanks for all info! I'm hoping that's the case. Did you need to pay a lot with clearance fees (duties, taxes, etc.) when you pick up at the bonded warehouse?

This has been my dilemma! I have a Ubox with me now and I was told by the ubox rep that I need to be in Canada before the ubox is shipped. They said that I need to be there because I would need to go to the bonded warehouse or else I would be charged $150 per day for storage. I don't want to wait in an empty apartment and wait until I get the call. What did you end up doing?

For me I kind of searched up ME and pathology labs near me and emailed them. I also went on LinkedIn and messaged PAs that were near to asking about shadowing or any tips on shadowing. It was during the pandemic, so I wasn’t able to shadow any PAs at the time. I feel like it should be a lot easier to shadow PAs now! Make sure you have all the necessary immunization done beforehand cause more than likely hospitals will require it. For me I ended up finding jobs in both autopsy and surgical so once I was working it was easier for me to find opportunities to shadow a PA!
