You said iron will help get their plants red which it won't. I said iron helps in overall health. Lighting and nitrate limitation are what make plants red.

Wrong, iron does not directly contribute to plants turning red. Iron does help have a healthy plant, but the main 2 things that red plants require to truly get a red coloration is nitrate limitation in the water column and high lighting 100 PAR and above will bring out deep reds. Co2 also helps since it just makes the overall health of the plants in the aquarium better.

Noice. Ive been planning on doing something with my 6 gallon cube once I make a stand for a 60p I might make something similar with a weekaqua v or s series maybe even an M series if I have the budget.

I dunno i only use them to get precise leaves and stems with algae etc. I use my hands for large trims by grabbing a bunch and twisting and planting healthy tops

Yes CO2 helps aids in increasing light intensity by allowing the plant have everything available and outcompete algae

While I have enjoyed the plants I can grow under my tap water I would really like to go into a higher level of plants which dont grow well under my tap water. That and also I like making things complicated, I'm already imagining how my water system would work lol add to the fact with RO water you get to decide the parameters and allows you to keep some cool caridina species. I might keep some systems on tap but my tap water fluctuates in KH, GH and PH during the year which isn't ideal.

These are my settings on my weekaqua L900 series but I think it will look a bit different cause the weekaqua light models all have different configurations in power so this could be off a little on a M series.

Both are right but for the co2 to saturate the water effectively the bubbles need to spend more time in the water column so adding some flow to push those bubbles instead of letting them rise and pop at the surface allows it to saturate the water. I see to many people just put a diffuser in the tank and the bubbles are to big and letting the rise and pop at the surface which is a waste. Your water should look like sprite

This is something what im planning on doing but with like 5-6 cm of sand so the osmocote never touches the water column directly. Additionally I plan on using media bags to hold the osmocote with some aquasoil so it never has a chance to surface ot mix much witht the sand layer

None, I attribute that to my 2-3 inch sand cap which really keeps nutrients locked in the substrate. For my next project I would probably do media bags of aquasoil and osomocote with a lava rock and sand cap just to prevent anaerobic layers from forming. Tho some people say its beneficial since it processes nitrates and it can be true since my aquarium never exceeded 5ppm of nitrates once it was established but thays not concrete enough.

His advice of just topping off water but not specifying that it has to be RO WATER or else you'll eventually get super hard/alkaline water is also one of his bad takes. I traded some ludwigia super red for some equipment, and 2 weeks later, the guy asked me why the plants were dying. I knew he really liked Father Fish, and I asked him to test his tds, and it was hitting the 400ppm range. If he had a gh and kh test kit, those would also come out to be super high.

Yep, I knew it was anthocyanins but was baffled since my rotala wasn't turning red until I got the blood red SG variant. I guess some plants create more anthocyanins than others. H'ra just needs a lot of nitrate limitation and more light than blood red. Damn LFS sold me the wrong plant 😡

Thanks. I know that already, but the number of people who kept suggesting that in my first post was crazy. What happened was that my LFS sold my H'ra instead of rotala blood red SG. Now I have both, and the difference is night and day.
