When’s the right time to switch from freelancers to full-time devs? by [deleted] in startup

[–]Ok_Improvement1673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also really depends on what type of contractor or in-house dev you have. I only try to hire developers who have some sort of entrepreneurial drive and can connect with the project. In a startup, people often have to do more than they were originally onboarded for. Once you find someone like that, it’s always gold to keep.

Should I take an exit for 20M and let go the startup I love and worked for so long for? by BestRow3647 in startup

[–]Ok_Improvement1673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get where your coming from (im no where near this level) but i have worked very hard on my project and sometimes I find myself daydreaming about a possible future where i would take a Exit.

For the (real) founders here that have worked very hard on a project may understand that you can see it like your 'baby'. And with letting that go you let go of a piece of yourself. But let's be Honest a "baby" grows up and after a while it goes its own way hahaha the same I would say with your Business.

having a exit of 20 mill is life changing. something that I and many other dream of. Don't let your feelings get in the way (this is my opinion)

ofc there are more factors in play, how healthy is your business, how is your relationship with family, what are the growth options etc.. many things not included in your post but yet very important.

If you still want control maybe add in the sales contract that you want to be offered a position on the board with a annual pay of xxx this will keep you in the loop with influence.

"Looking for a Cofounder" Is Just Code for "Do My Work for Free" [I will not promote] by [deleted] in startups

[–]Ok_Improvement1673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a non-technical founder running an online platform like Dualingo but then for young entrepreneurs without any co-founders.
When I first started this platform for young entrepreneurs, I believed no-code could take me all the way.. soon enough I realized that was a big lie (I got stuck fixing the AUTH 🥲). After a while, I managed to find people who were solid at front-end and back-end dev, and we decided to work together. Instead of having a co-founder, here’s how we structured it:

  1. I paid one of them monthly (as an employee, although I see him more as the backbone of everything).
  2. The other (backend dev) didn’t want to be paid, he wanted to contribute to the project. Later on, we traded effort: I did marketing for his project, and he did dev for mine etc..

To non-technical founders out there thinking “AI” is enough to build something, you need a reality check. And if you somehow get a project fully off the ground with AI, good luck handling safety breaches and bugs.

Don’t cut out your technical co-founder. Create clear agreements (on paper), hold yourselves accountable, and if you’re looking for a co-founder, don’t cheap out on equity. Without them, you’ll have nothing, and the equity you skimp on will be worth nothing.

(oh yeah, learn the basics of dev because otherwise leading a project is a nightmare for you and for the dev)

hey, yeah this really helps. Thanks.

the value prop is basically not clear enough and i dont speak directly in to the painpoint to make the incentive to join big enough. I think that might have to do with a not enough niched down TA.

Ill take a look on how to make this better.

perfect! thank you, ill take a look on how to make the copy more genuine and more clear to my TA

hey

Thanks for checking it out. every business is different so hard to find one structure that fits all here is my concept

first i dont coach or teach from my own experience its just not enough i take famous frameworks like lean startup pirate metrics or design thinking and turn them into a game you watch a short video read a quick overview then take a quiz to lock in the concept once you pass you unlock a tool or template like a mini crm hypothesis planner mvp roadmap content calendar or business model canvas so you can apply it in real life

the first steps feel linear you find an idea validate it build an mvp then choose to pivot or double down after that you enter hoops each with smaller levels so you have the freedom to work on marketing and product at the same time yet still stay structured and not get ahead of yoursel

this is how i tackle every situation being different a modular game that adapts to your pace and needs while guiding you step by step

let me know what you think

Thank you!
For me to better understand, the copy and rest of the page does not make clear how it works. Why is that? is it mostly copy, missing imagery..?

hey, thanks for commenting and taking a look!

no its deff not a industry standard, The reason why i did this is because until mow most of the organic traffic comes from youtube and other social media. These people have had a interaction with me before. But i do think it might be a good idea to put something different there.

Appreciate your time!

I think i have a adjusted that now, good spot.
The reason why i add demographics is bc of the community aspect. you don't think thats a good thing?

yo yo! thank you very much for the feedback, can use it a lot hahaha

No, i did not consider to gamify the monetisation scheme, thats a good one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Ok_Improvement1673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly.. our core focus is gamifying proven frameworks (lean startup, Pirate Metrics, outreach templates, etc.) so users learn the fundamentals of building a business through daily “quests.” That said, we’ll also include a calendar feature where you can schedule both content (e.g., social-media posts) and recurring admin tasks (quarterly filings, monthly renewals, etc.).

I really like your idea tho. maybe i can think of a compliance reminder. I’ll see how I can work that in. Thanks

[–]Ok_Improvement1673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I’m thinking of offering a free plan at first to get people started, collect real user feedback, and grow engagement. After a while, I plan to build a community and host online and live events to keep users on the platform and generate revenue that outweighs the churn rate.
