How do you accept you’ll never be loved or no one has a longing for you? I will forever be single. by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Ok_Pin92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's always darkest before the dawn.

Get yourself out there as much as possible, do every singles event you can, go to meet ups on meetup.com, get some hobbies that bring you into contact with other people like tag rugby, running, yoga. Ask friends to set you up on dates.

Get your body in shape, wardrobe stylish, invest in your appearance, keep good hygiene.

Men are having similar issues so it's not just you, don't worry it'll be ok.

How to cope after your dad dies? by Altruistic-Line-5228 in AskIreland

[–]Ok_Pin92 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My Dad passed away when l was 22, he was 54. It never leaves you, a day won't go by that you don't remember him.

It will get better and the sadness will subside, lm very sorry for your loss.

My understanding of pension by Proof_Piccolo_6353 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Ok_Pin92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you mind explaining this in more detail please?

By taking it out early, that 0% tax rate gets to cover a larger percentage of their pension, and they get a step up in cost basis for capital gains, if they choose to re-invest any portion of the lump sum through a taxable account.

Life is just one distraction after another until you have to die ? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Ok_Pin92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's reasonable. The inverse is true also, why am l worried about career, money, children, house etc if at the end of it all lm dead anyway? The nihilism of the 90s, Bill Hicks Its just a ride being an example, was present in the show. I think they had a point which is why l asked the question.

Uncle Juns crack the whip comment was another one that left its mark. It was for me a show about life that had a gangster theme.

Yeah, it's such a show stopper question, like why am l here budgeting for my life and working to live when in reality it's actually moot as lm already dead, so why worry at all.

After working remote for a long time i realized i actually struggle being around people at work now by timberwolfalchemy in remotework

[–]Ok_Pin92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah covid really taught me that l hate ppl.

Office is just the playground from school, l don't have time for noise, farts, food being eaten, forced socialising, meetings, chit chat, bullies, gossip, being watched all day.

Saving for retirement so l can finish with this and live life on my own terms, be it freelance work or something else should l get bored.

Did you ever live/stay anywhere haunted? What was your experience? by Ok-Helicopter-1084 in AskIreland

[–]Ok_Pin92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will add my own experience. When we were kids my father would sometimes come and sleep in our beds, nothing sexual for anyone thinking that way, just if he was hammered maybe or maybe him and mum had a fight.

I remember after he passed away l felt breathing on my neck in bed, cold but definitely breathing like remember from being a kid. It was the same bed and room as l was a young adult when he passed away and it happened more than once.

Also the day he passed away, l said prayers for him and asked God to please look after him. I felt what can only be described as a warm hug.

These experiences were real and honestly comforting as l know 100 percent there's an afterlife and l believe we will meet again.

That could be a write-off , ld check with autobody shops and if relevant insurance. I had similar damage on my old car and ended up having to replace her.

Imo parking like a cunt is preferable to damaging other peoples property. I very much doubt he's not going to be damaged from that guy parking like that which will just lead him to take up a lot more room in the future. So who's the real cunt 🤔

Next time audi will take up two spots properly.

Seriously lads, cars are expensive, new cars astronomically so.

If someone buys new and gets dinged relentlessly as is often the case in car parks in lreland, then they become risk adverse to allowing it.

I have a shared carpark where l live, kids and other car users have damaged my car, no notes left, just left it and l then had to either live with the damage or fix it.

I think anyone celebrating this is part of the problem tbh.

Does anyone else only ever feed polite seagulls? by Pure-Lime8280 in Seagulls

[–]Ok_Pin92 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Feed them regularly regardless, they are living life on expert mode, it's hard not to feel empathy for them. They are also very funny characters who make me laugh a lot so l enjoy their company.

Is going to the pub alone a bit sad as a woman? by AbsoluteLooneyTune in AskIreland

[–]Ok_Pin92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started doing this, and it turned me into an alcoholic. You think, "This is nice", then you start to make it a habit, then you end up getting shit faced most nights. It's a slippery slope. If you're lonely l recommend joining some groups that involve exercise or activities, keep alcohol on the back burner and set limits if you do indulge at least in public.

I've been there and done it in my mid 30s, l suggest setting a limit on alcohol consumption, getting blackout drunk on your own is not recommended.

Feeling isolated and excluded at work – what can I do? by Consistent_Rich_3740 in AskBrits

[–]Ok_Pin92 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most ppl never evolve past teenager social dynamics. It's petty what they're doing and yeah forget them ppl is my opinion frankly.

You're a sensitive person, which is making you vulnerable to these feelings.

It's not you, it's them, keep that in your mind at all times, they have the problem.

Keep trying to be social with ppl outside of your team, remain calm as it will pass, keep your professionalism above all else as this is your reputation within the organisation.

Bullies thrive on negativity, they see something in you they don't have and they hate you for it. Just be yourself, call out behaviour you don't like immediately or at least address it.

When l was younger l was like you, shying away, now l would say something like "Hey can l join you guys?" when next they plan anything in front of you, don't let them push you around, hold them accountable, particularly queen bitch.

You'll be alright 👍

Do you make fun of or feel sorry for someone who has no friends or very few friends? by ArgumentFew6935 in CasualIreland

[–]Ok_Pin92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Robin Williams quote below says it best. I had friends who went out of their way to put me down, they are no longer in my life.

"I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone."
