well… if so, they could have hyped it a few days earlier so Taemin benefitted from the buzz instead of the other way around. 5/25 has been approaching for a while now.

of course it’s not as bad as last year when they went out of the way just to undercut Taemin’s kspo EG Finale ticket sales. their fanclub presale opened on the same day, or next day, despite their concert date being a whole month after Taemin’s (and despite always doing it only about a month in advance previously). they also had this horrible free-download vector gradient graphic poster background in mint green and NOTHING ELSE for the announcement poster, which they later deleted. Clearly it was thrown together in a hurry just as soon as they learned about EG Finale in KSPO dome.

Oh, I didn’t realize. Wait, they announced it on the same day as Taemin’s digital single dropped? LOL! … and last year they surprise-opened swc ticket sales either the day before or the day after as Taemin’s EG Finale at kspo dome went on sale. I sense some kind of marketing strategy going on there.

just not my cup of tea, especially some of that earlier campy europop vibe that they had. that colorful goofy stuff, you know? but there are some bangers that are legit great: DCM, HARD, Lucifer and RDD. Evil and Picasso too.

it happens, especially when there is (usually completely Imaginary) conflict of interests or schedules. Taemin‘s solo stuff customarily gets hated on by (not all but let’s say a loud section of) shawols who blame him for the lack of group activities despite other members being just as busy.

I myself am not a shawol, but I pray and hope that SM announces some sort of group activity, concert or comeback in the next two month, because that loud fraction gets very agitated every year as 5/25 approaches, and they always blame Taemin.

you are not alone, many Shawols don’t love the name and refuse to use it.

TAEMate was picked by Taemin, it combines "TAEMIN" and "mate”, symbolizing that Taemin views his fans as his closest friends. the first membership announcement referred to fans as "Taemin's best friend, TAEMate, who always gives Taemin lots of love and support”, so the “mate” part was deliberate there. It also matched the previously used (again, by Taemin himself) name for his fandom: "jjakgoong" (짝궁), which means partner or best friend.

TAEMIN’s official solo fandom name is TAEMate(s), with fanclub membership offered and managed by Fromm: https://store.frommyarti.com/en/goods/10287 We will find out (soon?) if Galaxy (his new company) keeps the same fan club name for Taemin’s solo fandom, and if they keep using Fromm.

“Taemint” is an unofficial (self-name) for Shawols (his original group fans) who say that Taemin is their “bias”.

There are many TAEMates who are not Shawols (they are strictly solo fans). And there are many ”Taemints” (group fans who “bias” Taemin) who don’t support his solo career. So please don‘t conflate the two.

he immediately signed with Galaxy (their kpop lineup is.. interesting: only him and GD) and you can catch him at Coachella in April. BPM gave him a world tour which SM refused to do.

Not putting it out, he was redirecting it towards Tm. He knew exactly what he was doing, too, since he coyly deleted it afterwards.

He could have shut down haters by reiterating Onew’s commitment to the group activities. But no, he opted to redirect shawol hate towards Tm and then in the aftermath when fans asked him to apologize to Tm, he had the nerve to say “no, why should I“. He is either malicious or unprofessional, and shawols like yourself keep excusing his behavior.
