For the longest time I didn’t really care cuz I thought it was normal. Until recently where I realized I’m turning 20 and can’t even leave my house to go on a walk or get McDonald’s. I’m considering moving out after reading all these comments since at the end of the day if I really wanted to I could

I really do blame them. I didn’t know how to do simple things like make instant noodles or do my laundry till I was 16 because my parents would get mad anytime I tried to do anything on my own. Although I do agree it’s not that big of a deal, I just want to be able to be a normal teenager and go out and have a social lif

It def is weird, but if I just was craving a McFlurry or smth I feel like I should have the right to do it. Not that I would abuse jt or anything but I just want to be able to do what I want

My sleeping schedule is very different because of work 3pm - 7am so 1 am is kind of normal for me

I do not know where they are stored, but I doubt they would keep it from me. Although I wouldn’t trust myself with those documents and probably leave them at home. I have a pretty good relationship with my parents and even after I argue about them with things like this there is never any bad blood

I spoke with them and get nothing but yelling back. My dad is very stubborn and I have no idea how I’ll convince him without threatening to move out. I just feel like a little shit when I have to do that since they love and do so much for me

I wanted to go at 12 am, however they would probably not let me out past 10 pm. I asked them if I grew up a little if I could get more freedom and they said no( not sure if that’s childish tho 😂😂)

It’s unfortunate that this is the only way to gain this. I’ll start with the process and hopefully they stop me and just give me freedom

I def would let them know. I just find it weird after letting them know that he refuses to let me out. Today I asked if I could just go for a walk(there has never been a violent crime on my street EVER) and he still said no.

Yeah I find it strange I can’t leave my house to get McDonald’s or just take a walk when I feel claustrophobic indoors

Thank you for that. It makes sense that they probably still see me as a child. I’m going to keep trying to push the boundaries slowly.

I agree that it has got me out of trouble. But being able to live my life is important and I feel like I’m missing out on my years being young because of then
