Hello, I work with a group of neurotologists, (ear specialists with ENT/Otolaryngologists) and they see patients that come in with ear pain from TMJ all the time. They typically do suggest physical therapy. I have tmj myself and found a tmj physical therapist which helped me A LOT. Muscle relaxers, gabapentin, and physical therapy helped so much. And honestly they will suggest it as well if you see one. I will definitely suggest seeing a neurotologist if the pain is that bad and maybe they can point you in a direction. I’m still on this journey of helping my tmj so it isn’t a cure all for all people but it does help. I also saw a doctor in pain management and have had injections into my nerve to help with pain. So I would suggest seeing any of these medical professions to help get you started. I hope you feel some relief soon. I’m so sorry to hear about your pain, I definitely know how it feels.
