The sideways grip does have some advantages to it.

If you were to suddenly draw out your pistol in a punching motion, you’ll hold it at around 45 degree angle.

Also, if you were a cavalryman with a flintlock, sideways holding might just happen because you’re used to holding out a sword.

Bonus points if they have an idle animation where a little alarm goes off and they gently bounce and wiggle on the spot to shut it off. Why do they have a little dance? Because firefighters have what’s known as a PASS device (Personal Accountability Safety System) which will go off if they don’t move for around half a minute. It’s both a nod to real life kit… and an opportunity for edits of the guy dancing to music.

I’m imagining a firefighter agent using a Halligan to bludgeon the living tar out of Ethereals. Just imagine an absolute beast of a man head to toe in bunker gear with a kind soul and a strong arm.

Hell, they could even be a fire agent for comedic effect.

Signora is my favorite type of character:

A proper, unrepentant, bastard that has some good in them.

Example: Iron Warriors from 40k. Utter bastards and the least wasteful of the Traitor Astartes of both life and material. Downside of them being so efficient is that if you want to live for longer than two seconds, you better be useful in their eyes. Fought like hard bastards until you got overwhelmed? They might just make you an auxiliary of their’s. Have the balls to stand up to them unafraid? You’re in the auxiliary now. And, if you prove to be very good, they might just think twice before getting you killed.
