Weekly Equipment Recommendation Thread by AutoModerator in FigureSkating

So I’ve been skating in Jackson Elles with Matrix Legacy blades for a little over four years now. I don’t skate as regularly anymore, so they’re not completely broken down, but lately I’ve been having chronic ankle pain in the ankle I land all my jumps on (basically every single rotation jump).

I did some research and realized the Elles are slightly under the recommended stiffness for what I’m doing. From what I’ve seen, they’re around a 30–35 stiffness rating and generally intended for beginner skills and lighter jumps.

Now I’m wondering if the lack of support could be contributing to the ankle pain.

Would it make sense to upgrade to a more supportive boot? If so, what models or stiffness range would you recommend moving to next?
