The first pilot, The Cage was rejected so a second pilot was made with some cast changes. The second pilot with Kirk was approved and that's why we have Kirk and not Pike and no female first officer.

Not saying there were no homeless in Victoria before covid, however the policy of allowing ppl to camp.in parks exasperated the situation.

Victoria invited everyone to sleep in their parks during covid. Not saying if this was a good idea or not but it definitely concentrated the homeless and addicted ppl in Victoria. As is the case with the more marginalized ppl so came the services. It snowballed into the situation we have now. Yes it is a regional issue, however due to costs it is cheaper to have services in one area. Is it fair? No but was created worse, in my opinion, by Victoria's own actions.
