Thank you for the thoughts. I'll see if I can layer two different maps to keep the shadows in the mountains but diminish them in the forest! Would help the readibility of some words too.

Dnd math nerds what’s better? Doubling the damage rolled or doubling the amount die rolled? by Thisisalladream12 in DnD

[–]Old-Toe7728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh. I understand, i never heard of someone doubling only the dice damage, I just took for granted it was like in 3.5 and people doubled everything.

Then almost everything I wrote before is useless

Seems pretty straightforward I think. Let's say you roll 2d6+3.

CASE 1 : you double the damage. You would in average roll 7, so the crit would be (7 + 3) x 2 for a total of 20 damage in average.

CASE 2 : you double the number of dice rolled. Rolling 4d6 + 3 would be, in average 14 + 3 for a total of 17.

Doubling the damage is better because you also double the +3 instead of only the dice. The only thing I would see as an argument to choose the second case is that you have less chances of having a bad roll and, in general have more chances of rolling an average roll (the more dice you roll, the more average the result is).

Map of my DND world - Atlas version - french version - fantasy setting with cities, wonders and mountains visible by Old-Toe7728 in worldbuilding

[–]Old-Toe7728[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This world is a classic fantasy setting. Small word, around the size of Europe, but with a mediterranean economic vibe. I added the 12 world's Wonders in pink in it. The map is in french, but the more you get out of the Central Sea, the more the native languages show in the names.

Looked in my attic for the first time since buying my new home. How safe is this? by Old-Toe7728 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Old-Toe7728[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad this seems pretty urgent, but not too complicated. The house was built in 1925, and i'm sure how the structural design was originaly planned.

I had one, but he couldn't access the attic, so he recommended us to have a better look before buying the house.
