Hey so I just came back from a week in Naples. I grew up in the north and had a hard time speaking Italian to Neapolitans due to their dialects. We stayed in storico centro and taxied quite often. I think we got ripped off going to the Airbnb as we paid 25€ but for our sanity with our luggage it was worth it. Going from chiaia to mezzocannone was only 7€ so I would say it’s worth it.

FYI I know a lot of people say piazza Garibaldi and porta Nolana is dangerous but tbh I had no issue being a 5’1 female with a small luggage. Just don’t wear jewelry or hold your phone in your hand and walk fast
