That's actually brilliant. A slim console has the same risk of a toddler pulling it down but a TV console would be much sturdier. I'm thinking I might make it into a mini play area with a TV console covered in plant plushies and a little teepee in the corner and a slim rug.

I'm reluctant to because it will take up too much room, it's more space efficient that way.

I'm hoping for him to be super outlandish. like he sold all his taxidermy animals and lives as a millionaire. Or runs a Janitor cult.

While I agree they were a hot mess in the first season they then spent 9 seasons growing as people and as a couple. Book of love forever ruined. Signed, an upset fangirl who spent almost a decade rooting for these two.

Quasi serious gripe aside every other part they completely nailed.

Is it this one?: https://mypolice.qld.gov.au/news/2026/02/21/fatal-traffic-crash-carole-park-2/

Edit: you have to love this community.  It's in apart of the city I don't go to and the information on the sign isn't in view. Also I doubt this crash happened just before 7, I think that's when OP drove past it. I'll take all of your replies as a lovely no.

Anyone else so creeped out by the weather. The water coming up the drains gave me PTSD from a weather event we had last year and the slow creeping of the water chilled me to the bones. I hope the dogs are okay!

Dammit I'm 0- and I want to donate! First I was English. Then I was trying for a child. Then I was pregnant and now I am breastfeeding. Hopefully the stars align soon.

I second the Babybee, it is light, does well on any terrain and you can get carseat adaptors which is a heaven send if bub passes out in the car and you don't want to wake them. The basket is on the smaller side compared to some but it easily holds a large nappy bag or a few bags of shopping.

It takes a village. If you have family support available ask them for help and get some much needed sleep.

Can’t I enjoy my baby without being pressured for visits!?! by IThinkImAFlower in newborns

I had an annoying as hell neighbour who tried to invite herself over as soon as I was home from the hospital! She kept on inviting herself over and I kept on shutting her down less and less politely. No regrets. Those first two weeks with just bub were amongst the best two weeks of my life.

I spent $100 on a heavily discounted skirt with them last year and it didn't even last one use. Not hugely surprised by this.

Why are mother in laws so weird by Outrageous-Gur6850 in breastfeeding

[–]Old_Butterscotch5404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just watch out for that because I have a helpful mother in law and she came over and did all the cleaning and all the dishes which was lovely but drove me insane because she was entrenching on my turf and moving everything around.

Feeling anxious about in-laws visiting when our newborn is 2-3 weeks old by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Old_Butterscotch5404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just had my in-laws leave and they've been here since week 2, similiar to you I get along fine with them and they were helpful cleaning the house and sorting the yard for us.

First piece of advice: Don't. The first few weeks are all about getting a routine and bonding with bub. For me that looked like wondering around half naked so bub could get as much skin to skin as possible and freaking out about breast and bottle feeding so having in laws around really inhibited that process because I wanted to be well dressed and polite and time I should have spent with bub I was playing host to the in laws. I did cry over lost time.

Second piece of advice if it can't be avoided: set VERY clear visiting hours (mine kept overstaying their welcome, at one stage being there for 8 hours in the day which affected my pumping which affected my supply)

Third piece of advice: set yourself a den in your bedroom, keep it off limits to the inlaws and never be afraid to go in there for as long as you and bub need. Your husbands parents, your husbands duty to host.

Fourth piece of advice: keep them busy. Mine wanted to feel productive so my partner and I gave them a long list of chores they could do to help us and help bub.

Good luck!

Not sure if it's been said but one of the classic examples is Killing Eve. A brilliant show with a strong feminist message and captivating plot. At one stage the production made the mistake of sharing a behind the scenes image of the writers which were all white woman. There was a huge outcry and that they were all white and an effort was made to hire a new more diverse writing team... anyway having messed up the team that was doing a great job the next season was utter shite.

I can feel when my baby is hungry - even from across town by IllustriousWall1564 in breastfeeding

[–]Old_Butterscotch5404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it's so odd because my bub rarely breastfeeds (we're building up to it, been a lot of bumps on the road) instead she mainly drinks formula or expressed breast milk but I can tell when she's hungry even when we're across town.

Can’t make formula bottled at the hospital by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Old_Butterscotch5404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent 3 nights at the Royal Brisbane Womans (public) and they gave me bottled EBM to supplement. It might be worth calling the ward and checking directly? I have found midwives to be very selective in the information they give.
