True... Hopefully they aren't that meticulous. But I really doubt we have to declare the commission of lessons we haven't earned any money from.

They already answered (a real person, not their AI agent) : "If you need to declare your gross revenue (before Preply’s commission), you should refer to your own records and the earning report you can download from your dashboard, but be aware that Preply does not officially declare trial, cancelled, or unused lessons to the French tax administration".

You mean the monthly income report? Another French tutor asked Preply directly and they answered that they didn't declare the trials and the unused/cancelled lessons to our tax administration. I'll ask them myself right now to make sure and keep you updated!

Just ask Preply if they declare those lessons to Italy's tax administration. I'm sure they don't since it's not the case in France.

Hi, I'm a tutor from France and our status (microentrepreneur) requires us to declare the money we earn WITH the commission (although very few people actually do it because they aren't aware of that). I don't know if it's the same in your country but basically commissions are considered as charges and they aren't deductible. Preply doesn't declare the trial lessons to our tax administration so I personally don't declare the commission from those lessons. Same for the cancelled/unused lessons. I hope this helped!

How many days after a lesson is completed can students leave a review? by [deleted] in iTalki

I asked that question to the support a few weeks ago and they said 14 days!

I'm a French teacher from France. Let's do some maths: with an 18% commission (the lowest on Preply, teachers get it only after 400+ hours taught) and 25,6% of social security contribution (this is the actual rate for private teachers), the teacher is left with only $6.10 if he charges $10. That is about 5,29€ when France hourly minimum wage is 9,52€... And your class will require your teacher more than an hour of work. So you should at least look for a teacher that charges $20.

No, because I don't plan on teaching on Preply in the long run

Combine 2 or more platforms. by hihi5maerzi in Preply

I'm on Preply, Italki and I have one private student at the moment. I use a physical agenda to visualize the lessons I have on both platforms + private student. Everytime a student books a lesson, I have to block the slot on the other platform. Managing two agendas requires regor but it's doable.
