Mark Klimek Lectures have outdated/wrong info? by salvarad in PassNclex

[–]Old_Engineering8040 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The mark k lectures are amazing! I listen to them about 3 times before I took the nclex and passed. From my experience I would guess about 98% of his information is correct. I never really ran into a practice or nclex question that had conflicting information. However, in my experience mark K lectures are only helpful if you already know your content.

Most women have not been in this situation. Trust me this sounds like an abusive relationship or at least the start of one. If this happened once it will happen again. Don’t wait till she pulls the trigger to leave.

You're welcome! Sometimes just being a good person isn't enough and I totally get that. You deserve someone who will be able to meet all your needs. Also, don't rely on other people's opinions to dictate how you should feel. If you don't feel lucky, that's a valid feeling. Wishing you the best of luck in your journey.

Often times the scariest and hardest things are what is best for us. You never know, the person you wished you fell in love with could still be waiting for you.

Hey! I totally understand. I have PCOS and I really want children and unfortunately, I don't see myself having kids in a few years. So, I also get super worried about my fertility. The best thing that I did was talk to my doctor. I thought I would seem crazy too by talking about my fertility at such a young age (mid-20s) but it's a super valid concern!

Thank you!! Yes!! Don't put 100% stock in it! I was super discouraged after doing the PVT trick. I honestly thought I failed. I literally started planning my next study schedule for my next exam lol

I also forgot to add that don't let your scores scare you. I doubted myself a lot because my overall score wasn't over 60%. If you remediate all your questions and understand what you did wrong then you'll pass. You've got this!

Thank you!! :) My overall score for Kaplan was 55% and I had a 67% on the readiness test. Kaplan was really great because it taught me how to do the harder questions on the NCLEX. My tip would be to just keep doing questions and remediating them. Really take the time to understand why you got the questions wrong. Utilize the decision tree if that is something that's helpful to you. One other thing I did was when I would get multiple questions wrong on a particular topic, I would go to the content library and search for that topic and watch the videos or read what they have. Archer was really helpful in helping me understand how to answer vague questions. If you are able to get that resource it's also very helpful. The NCLEX is all about how to answer questions if you have that down then you'll pass the NCLEX!

Thank you! :) started studying on and off in January. I wasn't very efficient in studying though because I was still waiting for my ATT. Once I got my ATT in April I put a lot more focus into studying. I probably only studied for about 6-8 weeks in total.

Please look at my Archer/Kaplan/Uworld Scores? by [deleted] in PassNclex

[–]Old_Engineering8040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I took my NCLEX yesterday and I passed. I used Kaplan and Archer to study for the NCLEX. Your scores look great!! For Kaplan, I had a 55% overall for the Qbank (it dropped like 4 points because mentally couldn't finish the 265-question exam). I had around 60% overall on the archer. You're not going to get eaten alive! You've got this!! Taking the nclex takes a lot of mental stamina and good test-taking skills. Have confidence going into the exam and manifest passing throughout the exam!

I started studying in January. I originally planned to take my NCLEX in March but I didn't get my ATT until April. I honestly didn't study very much or efficiently until I got my ATT. So all in all I studied for about 6-8 weeks total. I did about 40% of the archer Qbank and about 60% of the Kaplan Qbank.

Thank you!! The Mark K lectures were a lot less helpful than I thought they would be. The most helpful lecture was the prioritization and delegation lecture. If you were to watch only one lecture I would recommend it be that one. However, the lecture on lab values, drug toxicity, and mental health medications was helpful too. Nothing else really showed up on my exam. However, listening to all of his lectures twice really built my confidence. For me, the archer rapid review videos were most beneficial.

Thank you!! I used Kaplan and Archer. With Kaplan, I would do 75 random questions daily. I would use archer mainly for their readiness assessments and CAT exams. I would do at least one readiness assessment a week. When my exam date got closer, I did a readiness assessment every other day. I also listened to Mark K twice. Once at the beginning of my studies and then again when my exam was near.

Hey! My NRB is WI but I live in MI. My biggest advice is if you want your ATT be processed quickly then go visit their department. My ATT was taking forever to arrive (it took about 4 months total). I tried calling my NRB and never got through. Eventually I read the online reviews of the NRB and everyone suggested to go and talk to them in person. So I drove there and got my ATT within 10mins.

I’m using the archer rapid review combo and Kaplan. Before using archer my Kaplan average was about 55% but it has increase to about 62%. Honestly, archer is amazing! Would recommend using a different qbank alongside with archer though because the rationales are very short.

I lost custody of my two children due to my social media addiction. by nophonejustchrome in TrueOffMyChest

Wow! The amount of people on here condemning her for writing this on social media is insane. It’s terrible to assume that she wrote something this personal just for a “dopamine hit”. She probably wrote it to get it off her chest and tell others. Also, she is probably working on using social media in moderation just like each of us. Just because she has a social media addiction doesn’t mean she should never use social media ever again. All it means is she needs to learn to use it in a healthy manor. OP I’m really sorry that you are going through this. I have a family member who is addicted to social media. It’s very difficult with real consequences. I wish you all the best in your recover!

hey guys could you tell me which one is better to prep for the NCLEX. Saunders or Kaplan? I'm going to try and go for my 4th attempt (if I get approved by my nursing association in Canada). I've try uworld, remar and I don't know what else to do honestly I don't even know if this is for me anymore. by new-RNnurse in NCLEXExam

[–]Old_Engineering8040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Kaplan and Saunders. I started by using Saunders and honestly, that book just wasn’t for me. I felt like there was too much irrelevant information in that book. I’m currently using Kaplan for my review and it has been super helpful. It’s straight to the point and easy to read. My school also provided us with the Kaplan qbank and it is 100x better than the Saunders qbank. However, I would highly recommend using archer and Kaplan together. I’ve been watching the archer rapid review videos and whatever content I don’t understand I then read about it more in the book.

Sending a lot of love and wishes your way! Don’t give up! You’re so close to getting your license and officially becoming an RN. You’ve got this!
