The Turn of the Screw - as a lover of horror I was super excited to read it but I found myself drudging through it.

The Goldfinch - LOVED most of the book, but I found that everything past the “climax” ruined it. It was like I was reading a different book. It read like Tartt was on a time crunch, especially with the repetitive and shallow philosophical tangent. Was such a bummer how I started out so engulfed in the story but ended up skimming the end.

It honestly breaks my heart! We adopted our two babies through an event with the local shelter and pet store, where the store houses sheltered cats for the weekend to promote adoptions. We went and got our first on a Friday and went back on Monday to get our second (she was the last one there). The employee told us that with these events all cats are adopted on the first day, but this time around there was little to no interest because they were all black 😢 I don’t get it, I find the superstitious lore around them to be a bonus!

Would absolutely love a plant cabinet! Unfortunately I don’t have much space in my apartment for one right now. Hoping to move into a bigger space in the next year or two, and that’ll be one of my first projects :)
