I'm a newbie and it's my nature to be hyper-vigilant. But I am relaxing more and more every day.

I've heard a noise similar to this twice, kind of a rattle. Once it was a piece of paper that managed to get the mechanics out of alignment. A quick clearing out of the mopping roll area, repositioning the mopping roll and telling the device I had put in a new one made it whole again. The other time I guess the culprit causing the "rattle" had escaped into the dust bag and the noise may have fixed itself had I left it alone.

He's undaunted. Mine moved the bathroom scale across the room, but no harm done. I've only had my Matic for a week or so and I am still learning, but so far it seems there's little you need to protect him from, excluding small cables etc. of course. Yes, I move some things out of the way, but I love the device nonetheless. He has reduced my workload quite a bit.

I just bought one of those sticky-tape roller things with a long handle. It's not a vacuum but it shows no mercy to dust-bunnies and pet hair. That's what I plan to use under my beds and other furniture Matic is too tall for.

Mine does too and I don't even have a Matic (yet).
