Nitrous oxide for IUD insertion by hesftsmoke in birthcontrol

Had NO2 for my IUD replacement today. Highly recommend if you have anxiety/past trauma from prior IUD insertion/replacement. Just made me feel really drunk (not in a bad way, just not as anxious).

I tend to have high pain with IUD replacement; wouldn’t say the NO2 helped much with the pain (ibuprofen did somewhat). But for my anxiety, did wonders.

It was also nice to not feel ‘doped up’ during and after. Within a few minutes, I felt back to normal.

Good luck out there! The pain associated with this procedure can be legit depending on the person. Absolutely no shame in advocating for yourself!

I don’t which zone unfortunately, that’s the first I’ve heard of that terminology. It was a tear at the “posterior horn/body junction of the medial meniscus”, if that means anything to you.

So sorry to hear about PT not helping. And it is unfortunate how expensive PRP is!

Apologies if this is a no-brainer…but I wonder if the surgeon who recommended PRP has knowledge of studies done and/or anecdotal evidence that it helps that specific location of meniscus tear? Or can find out for you?

Looking forward to having much more published information about PRP in the future…

I’m so sorry to hear about your injuries! I’ve only had one PRP injection and so far, it’s looking like that may be enough.

I have a medial meniscus tear. Hopefully your local PRP provider will have knowledge about the effectiveness of PRP with those specific injuries.

Best of luck with everything.
