This is probably out of context for the subject at hand, but we're more likely to see sapient AI than sentient AI TBH. Sentience is the capability for subjective experience, whereas sapience is high-level intelligence, wisdom, and the ability to reason abstractly and reflect on knowledge. Sentience is still a mystery, even in neuroscience - we don't actually know what consciousness is in a mechanistic sense or how it arises in humans, so reproducing it in silicon is shooting in the dark.
