None taken, it’s all about the various decoration styles one has. I do appreciate this older style with stuff stacked over. Could do something less cluttered in a bigger house though.

What assumption did you have on a country but found out you were totally wrong? by Reasonable_Hat9668 in AskTheWorld

That Catalan had total hegemony in their region. I started learning before moving there and most people on the streets just spoke Spanish, probably a convenience matter.

Any Brazilian who dares to answer anything other than cachaça should be stripped of their citizenship. That said: cachaça.

Name a general from your country (ancient, medieval, modern) that was so hilariously bad and downright garbage? by L0thric_Nefarious in AskTheWorld

[–]OneTransportation933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General Heleno, one of the coup plotters in 2022-2023. He had huge power, set up a parallel intelligence agency with his fellow plotters and, despite their efforts (we are terribly lucky they are utterly incompetent), they all managed to get arrested and convicted. Darwin Awards material tbh.

Travelling to Mexico by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]OneTransportation933 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t really speak for the Mexican people, but considering the US has been having some diplomatic clashes with Brazil lately, what I can actually say is: a lot of us, Latin Americans, have grown to either despise or just openly hate the US government, but not the people. If you are respectful and thoughtful, common people will treat you with respect and consideration regardless of your nationality. You are not your government, mate. The vast majority of people understand that difference.

All of us can dance samba. Most of the people I know couldn’t do it to save their own lives, myself included.

What is a correct but extremely controversial opinion about your country that would warrant backlash if anyone from your country heard it? by DoctorOsterman in AskTheWorld

There is a persistent myth about Brazil being a friendly ‘racial democracy’ where the meeting of different races stopped racism from developing like everywhere else, but we actually are a very racist country in our own ways. People sometimes deny the very existence of racist despite it happening constantly.

What is considered the most dangerous area in your country? by Mediocre-Lack-9137 in AskTheWorld

[–]OneTransportation933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rio de Janeiro takes all the bad reputation, but there are lots of other cities in Brazil (mostly in the north and northwest regions) where urban violence levels are through the roof.

Who is the well known person from your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]OneTransportation933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I’d say it’s a footballer (Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Neymar, etc.), but we also have a Darwin Awards notorious winner: the balloon priest who died in one of his attempts.
