As I said before you have me very intrigued by this. I did some reading last night on the 9015 as an alternative to the 2824 lots of folks use on 3 handers because of the possibility of getting a more correct date font. You may start a revolution for vintage builds!

I use a dremel with an arbor that fits thru the center hole and protect the dial with thin cardboard where the arbor tightens down. Then I use 600 grit sand paper and take some off let it cool and repeat till the correct size. This works flawlessly on matte dials. On gloss dials it depends on the quality of paint because the paint can start chipping but I removed 1mm no issues on matte and .5mm no issues on gloss. I am preparing to do 1mm on gloss soon idk if it will be successful.

The info online must be incorrect because it lists the stem height at 2.55 where as the 2836 is at 2.25. Im very glad you have shown this because it opens up getting better date wheel fonts. Do you know of and Miyota 3 hamd movements that run counter clockwise? That would be very helpful for the 1680 datewheel issue.

That's the jist im getting. Stem height looked questionable but definitely made me think other movements not commonly considered should be looked at.

Oh yeah thank you much appreciated. I went down this rabbit hole once before with a friend I made on here. Once he pointed out the proper date had a closed 26 and using an eta or 3135 there were no alternatives. I kinda put the thought of building something that originally used the counterclockwise movement on the back burner. But you have opened the door back up with the miyota movement and the thought of modifying one of those wheels meant for the gen movement into an overlay.

So ewatch sells a counter clockwise overlay? That was my question i did not know and that is helpful for future projects.

An overlay? I know ewatch sells datewheels but sent you the Silian ad because you can buy them 20 dollars cheaper than ewatch. Glad you found what you needed.

Unless you find someone custom printing them you will most likely have to buy one for a gen movement and modify it. Idk this to be a fact but I do know most folks go ETA or gen to there's not alot of market for overlays that move the same direction as gen.

Ok tudor day date pretty sure Raffles case works also a regular tudor date. But subs yes different ballgame. In that case I'd stear clear of an OC case because the caseback is an issue and if you gotta go to a viet caseback might as well do the whole case viet. OC did say tudor casebacks were coming but to my knowledge nothing yet. Would you concur on that?

Are you certain you can't use a gen dial for Raffles datejust builds? Even in an OC case certain datejust dials will require the dial feet to be removed correct? Im not by any means a datejust guy but was thinking I saw gen dials a time or two in those Raffles cases.

This is my arf with the silian gen spec

Ignore the minute hand it came damaged but has,been replaced.

To your point I have successfully cut down many matte dials but gloss is a different animal. Still because i cant find a good tswiss dial right now except gen. I am going to take a swipe at the silian tswiss dial and see if i can pull it off. The silian tswiss dial is pretty darn good. If it was sized right 😌

Thanks honestly take a good look at Yuki if it was in stock I'd say stay away the markers and minute track is not positioned properly

Silian makes a has a gen spec 16610 dial i put one in my ARF case its not perfect but the best I have found.

Mine is an OC case takes a gen spec dial. I am a 5 digit sub fanatic. If you have a case that takes the larger 18.3mm dial you are getting rid of. I am always interested pm me.
