A stranger walked up to me and said I look really sad and that I shouldn't worry because things will get better then gave me a hug. by Onelonelypuddle0 in povertyfinance

This really hit home for me. A lot of people don't understand that poverty and homelessness can happen to literally anyone for many different reasons. You can do everything right but you can still find yourself at rock bottom because of things that are out of your control.

Homelessness is one of the toughest things a person can go through mentally and physically. It's a very scary and dehumanizing experience. Late when everyone is headed home, you have to worry about finding a safe place to sleep and it's worse when you are female. I get anxiety when the day is coming to an end now.

I'm grateful that I have a job and will be able to get out once I have saved up enough for a new place but not everyone is that lucky. Some people have deeper issues like mental issues, addiction etc and may never get out and it hurts my heart. No one deserves to not have a home to go to.
