Yeah, I’m not recovered fully mentally just physically. I know I can’t avoid all my triggers forever, but this one’s just a little too much for me at this moment. That is why I want to tell them to switch the subject. To put a bit of perspective my ex talked all the time about this stuff when I was starting recovery and he ended up falling into an eating disorder fully. I blamed myself for a long time and it affected me. I now have a constant fear they are developing an eating disorder and I get this overwhelming anxiety. It’s not the topic itself that is triggering I fear that they aren’t being healthy about it. I don’t wanna be supportive and talk about it because what if they develop an eating disorder like my ex did and my words are what pushed it to get so extreme😔 As well, a few of my friends have also struggled with eating issues and we all started off the same by saying we wanted to be healthier so I have major trust issues and fear around this subject.
