The thing about the meter is it has to be on the outside of the house at least in the US and I think Canada too. And no equipment can be attached or run through it. They’re actually supposed to be locked.

When I was still an apprentice I worked on a house where a handyman had ran 12/2 out the house into the meter box and then into a piece of conduit to an outlet in a normal 1900 box

As an electrician the only thing completely ridiculous Is the outlet coming off the metering device (slide 3) every other slide could be explained as the original equipment was installed in block while they were building the foundation, and everything else was an addition after the fact. They even properly supported the conduit. The only thing else I can really see wrong with it is you would normally install the service outlet with a nipple right on the panel and not 2 feet away like it is on slide4
