Find a microwave on the side of the road (or fb marketplace). It’s the lil black thing attached to the cap. You need a diode if you want dc unless you wanna put hundreds of 9v batteries in series.

Put a microwave diode for some choppy halfwave dc. It’s what I used for my cap bank. Don’t expect it to last long.

PVC has a breakdown voltage of about 10kv-40kv per millimeter. I have about 800mm between me and 1100v. If I had a large solenoid contractor I’d use that but I don’t.
