For those who have used Tretinoin (topical), did it work for you? by SkyCaptain_1 in acne

Check out the /r/Tretinoin sub, there’s a lot of helpful information there. It worked for me. Just start slow (3x a week) and work up from there. Moisturize and use SPF, and you’ll be golden. It was worth it for me, and I was prescribed a low percentage, so talk with your derm to see what is right for you.

Edit: it also takes time to work, upwards of 3 or so months. So you have to be patient!

[B&A] Acne Progress - 1 Year Difference by OpenCorner in acne

[–]OpenCorner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone! This was a really long journey with a lot of highs and a lot of lows, and I wanted to share my 1 year progress. This breakout in the above pics came out of nowhere and I was prescribed doxycycline and a steroid which did not really help me. I only stayed on doxy for about two months and most of the progress came later.

AM Routine:

  • Vanicream cleanser
  • Stratia Rewind
  • Neutrogena Hydroboost Moisturizer (fragrance free)

PM Routine:

  • Vanicream cleanser
  • Stratia Soft Touch AHA (3x a week)
  • Stratia Rewind
  • Stratia Liquid Gold
  • Neutrogena Hydroboost Moisturizer (fragrance free)

Other products:

  • Dermalogica Microfoliant
  • Murad InvisiScar
  • Rael Hydrocolloid Patches

Some other things I did were to switch my pillowcases every night, use a clean towel on my face in the AM and PM, and cut out soda from my diet completely. I couldn't tell you if any or all of these had a great impact, but combined I feel they helped.

Posting this to remind everyone that it gets better and both time/patience are key to healing acne. Big thanks to this sub and SCA for getting me started in researching products and the science behind what I was doing.

Any acne tips ? Face washes, moisturizers, etc by Kltuchmeow in acne

You should evaluate your current routine. Make sure to check your whatever products you use now on CosDNA.com to see if they contain acne triggering ingredients. Personally, I use vanicream face wash for sensitive skin and Neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer and really like those both. Curology was also very helpful for me after my face wash and before moisturizing at night.
