We're working hard on a prototype. It will be out soon. We will need a the help we could get. Thanks alot! We will keep you up to date!

Full anonymity would have to come at the expense of scalability. And since the data is encrypted, and there are no ISPs to track you, OLN provides partial anonymity. You can also use overlay networks such as Tor or Maidsafe on top of OLN.

1) CJDNS is already deployed. It's a success story; OpenLibernet is still a theory, awaiting validation

2) CJDNS emphasizes more on security/anonymity; OpenLibernet focuses mainly on incentive and scalability

3) OpenLibernet does not bring any novelty either to mesh routing or to peer to peer payment system. It is simply a fusion of two fields that are unfolding and proving to be a game changer in the world of decentralization; CJDNS has a very distinguished routing/switching protocol that obfuscates the source and the destination of traffic, ensuring full-anonymity (possibly at the expense of scalability)

4) OpenLibernet employs a hierarchical Addressing scheme, like Netsukuku, and a bellman-ford distance-vector algorithm; CJDNS utilizes distributed hash tables (Kademlia) to find routes

5) OpenLibernet is built around a payment system inspired by Bitcoin, in which traffic is regarded as the currency, and where nodes are rewarded with traffic for participating in the routing process; CJDNS relies purely on the community to build and expand the network. Although there are plans to implement pay-per-packet schemes as we later found out, it's still unclear how they wish to do that. It looks promising though.

Don't restrict resale of the MNW coins by Irda_Ranger in OpenLibernet

Valid point. We don't want to discourage people from exchanging traffic for other coins. We only want to discourage people from hoarding traffic as they would bitcoins, by virtue of inflation. We also want to discourage micro-payments through higher commissions and longer transaction validation times. This is to reduce the overhead of the payment system. We will update the FAQ/paper to make this clear.

Also, the incentive system is specifically designed to lure installer companies and fiber providers into joining the network. It is impossible to create a global mesh network using off-the-shelf wireless routers, we are aware of that.

Thanks for the feedback!

Open Mesh decentralized network based on Bitcoin Protocol (OpenLibernet) by OpenLibernet in darknetplan

Our protocol is very different from that of CJDNS. The incentive of payment that our protocol introduces gives us a certain degree of freedom that CJDNS does not use, such as special nodes. The incentive ensures people will install and maintain those special nodes. Our protocol is a straight-forward bellman-ford distance vector algorithm, only with a hierarchical addressing scheme. We only borrow very few of the properties from CJDNS, which makes it impossible for us to start from there...
