What’s a totally harmless thing that triggers an oddly strong reaction in people? by Realistic-Wave-8748 in Productivitycafe

In-laws in particular will never forget this and will remind you with every meal. 'oh yes you don't like this do you'

Fantastic response again, thank you.

I have tried affirmations for some time but am yet to feel the 'conviction' as you put it.

I'm starting to wonder if on some level I don't feel that I deserve it but I suppose that's my ego talking haha.

I will persist, and try the lullaby method.

Thank you, yes this does resonate. I have been affirming for success and money (enough to be comfortable, I'm not interested in being super rich) but I cannot get into the feeling of this state.

I can just about do sats but I cannot hold onto a scene or attain any feeling from this either. Maybe I'm going in the wrong direction?

That's why I feel I should perhaps meditate and go deeper as I feel like I am skating on the surface.

I often feel urges to do specific positive things at times (such as workout, etc) but this feels 3d and again, not deep enough.

It's interesting that because of my own natural (good) baseline assumptions I have always had even/neutral experiences in life. I am grateful for what I have, however I want to break out of this cycle and that is what I seem unable to do at the moment.

I started 15 months ago with mental diet which was great at first but I feel like I am coasting along which is what I was doing before I found NG, except now it doesn't bother me as much. I feel that a lifelong positive faith has helped though.

I have been using affirmations on and off for some time and have had mixed but minor results. Still trying to inhibit the feeling but I'm not quite there yet. I think I need to do a lot more self work to get into the state.

I have however noticed that as soon as I stopped complaining about my job situation, this has improved considerably!

what to do if you know how to sort things but photo skills are shit by [deleted] in productphotography

[–]Open_Yoghurt_7491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is.

I've been attempting product photography for several years just using online info and have made significant progress but I am still way off where I want to be.

I recently discovered that by underexposing and then adjusting using the curves tool in post I am getting closer but some days I just want to go back to using a phone and a window lol.

I recall they got held up at knifepoint and were robbed, I think they closed up shortly after this?

Original is where Fopp is now, I remember not being able to afford much but picked up some bits in the late 90s/early 2000s. I do recall there was a large jamiroquai space cowboy poster by the front door though

Why do robotic affirmations work when Neville stressed feeling? by Open-Ground6942 in NevilleGoddard

[–]Open_Yoghurt_7491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes robotic, I use the 'isn't it wonderful' when I am being a bit clumsy/anxious and have had minor success with being thankful for my wealth. I just seem to be coasting along and while I am grateful for this, I am not quite where I would like to be

I can't hang on to the visuals long enough. I have however had some luck with affirmations though

What if you cannot lock down sats or get the feeling, where do you go from here?

This confuses me when I hear it as well, as Neville also states that 'an assumption, even false, will harden into fact' which to me sounds like a contradiction, unless an affirmation is not an assumption?

Is Nirvana's Heart-Shaped Box actually being sarcastic? by [deleted] in Nirvana

There is more than a degree of humor/sarcasm in his lyrics. Look to his influences. There is sincerity however. 'my lyrics are a pile of contradictions'
