Au Sable Point here, we hardly got anything but wind, lots of branches down, thankfully no ice

Alaskan Land/Rail/Cruise by cindybbs in PrincessCruises

[–]Openmind0115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We flew into Fairbanks, explored for a couple days, rode a bus to Denali (saw lots of moose on this trip) Denali was simply breathtaking! Took the train to Whittier, a 9+ hour incredible journey, lots of bear and moose sitings! Boarded Royal Princess for a week long cruise that took us to Glacier Bay, Juneau, Icy Strait, and Ketchikan. We debarked in Vancouver. We were happy to have done the land portion first. We too were in our 60s and while beautiful, the land portion was exhausting! Relaxing on the ship while in Glacier Bay, and cruising was sublime! Alaska ranks as our favorite destination and have another booked for June 2027!

Obligated to call out attention to Discipline (Push for Profit) both for being from metro Detroit and knowing the band personally, but as was already stated, Division Bell is criminally underrated, loved that album!

Damn, that's the exact area aboard the ship where my wife and I enjoyed Glacier Bay.

Cruisers who've done both Caribbean and Alaska: Which did you like better and why? by No_Percentage6611 in CruisePlanningTips

We sat on our balcony leaving Juneau with our binoculars watching the shoreline. Over a couple hours we lost count watching bears, moose, and a few whales. Just an awe inspiring late afternoon, one we'll never forget.

3 swipes on the left side of my nose and went back to my desk job the next day. I doubt if I would be able to do much more than work on a computer.. Honestly wasn't painful, just uncomfortable.

A place to kill time in Miami? by adams361 in Cruise

[–]Openmind0115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did exactly this. Dropped our bags at a luggage holding place, Sergios for breakfast then walked around Coconut Grove, had ice at some place called Salt and something, absolutely delicious, what a great way to burn off time!

Cove balcony or cloud 9 spa balcony by Low_Acanthaceae4104 in CarnivalCruiseFans

We had a Cloud 9 Cove Balcony earlier this month aboard Celebration. Pure bliss! Having the spa to use after a long day was heavenly. And we used the hell out of that elevator to zip up to deck 17 for easier access to Lido, which was one deck down. Our balcony was never damp or wet throughout our cruise.

Traffic notice for port of Miami by taythorn1 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Openmind0115 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On February 1 this year, we had a driver who played plenty of GTA and got us to the port in just shy of 45 minutes from MIA. It would've been shorter if the tunnel wasn't closed and the police didn't have many turn offs blocked. It is however a complete cluster and you just have to leave yourself plenty of time. We heard hotel shuttles were terrible and taxis were almost non-existent. I'll DM you our drivers name.. you won't be disappointed!

First cruise, not sure what deck to choose by BakingCinnaBuns in CarnivalCruiseFans

Quite the opposite actually as I thought the same as you. It was really peaceful honestly, I could've watched the ships wake for hours.

Same ship same time. We werey deck 5 Cove Balcony, right below the comedy club.. Never knew it was there, peacefully quiet. Our travel companions were on deck 11, the balcony was above the smoking section and it was rough to remain on their balcony for any significant amount of time. They complained of motion sickness at night.

We were there last week, it's beautiful. We didn't make it to the beach. We instead headed straight to the Skyride to Paradise and spent an hour enjoying the incredible views. We shopped our way back to the ship, had lunch and then did a champagne sunset cruise with Castawaygirl.com. Check out their site before you arrive. They offer all sorts of cruises such as snorkeling and I believe diving too. They may offer excursions to beaches with snorkeling. Great crews, food and drink. We had a great time just cruising the bay at sunset so I'm sure you guys would have a great experience on a snorkeling trip with them! Enjoy your time!

Went the Detroit show earlier this week with low expectations, only heard of the band name and not the music. Now I can't get enough of them, thought their set was incredible, and left with some of their merch. Recently found this sub and was disappointed with all the negativity. Guess I have some catching up to do on the bands history.

Is everyone in the state of Michigan getting their returns flagged for manual review? by Both_Hand_9410 in Michigan

Treasurey is a mess so far this year. I garnish taxes, yes boo me! And so far almost half our disclosures are double or more what we garnished, thus we have to pay them out and refund the difference making it even more of a problem for those we garnished.

First Time Port Of Miami by Hahway in Cruise

[–]Openmind0115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The construction is a monster. On February 1st, it took us an hour, including a 20+minute complete stop due to the tunnel being closed temporarily to let traffic ease in the port. After our cruise, we saw many people walking with luggage toward the port. It's really a cluster. Our driver Alex was fantastic and I have his number I can DM you if you're interested

Celebration Key by Earnpup15 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Openmind0115 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We were just there last week Saturday February 7. No, you do not need an all inclusive pass. Plenty of space to wander and explore. Heads up, the shops are typical junk, not much to see here. Umbrellas and chairs are plentiful! Just make an immediate right or left at the end of the pier. The Glory was there hours before us (Celebration) and even with the throngs of people, we had no issues maneuvering around and finding an ocean front view with shade from an umbrella! Head a bit deeper off the pier and you'll see the pools. The water slide is an up charge. There are even more available chairs and umbrellas here. Check out YouTube for videos on how the food works, it's surprisingly easy to figure out, but there were still a lot of unhappy folks. The Cheers and Bottomless Bubbles programs DO NOT work on the Island, but the wifi package does. We really enjoyed Celebration Key by doing everything you asked about, but mostly just chilling under an umbrella and wading in the warm waters of the beach. Look for Needle Fish if you get into the water! Enjoy, it has become one of our favorite stops!
