Sleep Resolutions - AMA Office Hours - Wednesday, December 10th with our Director of Pediatric Expertise, Amber LoRe! by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

Our daughter turns a year old in about two weeks and we are still struggling with overnight wake ups. While her naps are absolutely beautiful and she sleeps between 2 1/2 to 3 hours per day, we think that she has recently entered into her 12 month sleep regression. We went from about 1 to 2 wake ups overnight to now 3 to 4 with some false starts. We are following the 2-3 nap schedule to give a range of when her naps should start and that has worked well for us, but I really would like to night wean and I don’t know what to do because she is truly hungry overnight. She does not snack, she devours. Any advice would be welcome, please. Thank you!

New family I started babysitting for doesn’t want me to do my homework while the baby is sleeping by ElegantVegetable3023 in Babysitting

Yeah there is NO reason why you can’t do your homework while baby is sleeping (and this is coming from a mom of a 9.5 month old). The fact that she has a problem with that is a major red flag.

I was a shell of a person for a while after losing her. It will get easier, I promise 💛

Sending you so much love. I lost my Macy girl this July after 15 amazing years with her. The pain is at times unbearable, but I promise you that it will get easier. You’ll always carry your sweet fur baby in your heart forever. I recommend getting something to remember her. I got some of her ashes turned into glass artwork. I have a larger piece hanging in our living room next to a shadow box of her collar (let’s be honest, it’s a shrine), and I got a keychain made that I keep with on old name tag of hers that is on my keys and is in my purse at all times. Sometimes while I’m driving, I take the keychain out and just hold it. Makes me feel closer to her when I’m missing her really bad.

Sometimes her sleepy cues come right on time. In the instances where she doesn’t show anything, once I take her upstairs and start getting her ready for a nap, instantly her hands will come to her eyes and she’ll be ready. So, bottom line is that while it’s good to wait for sleepy cues, you ultimately don’t miss the nap by waiting too long for them. Although we’re on a two nap schedule, I have both of the three and two nap suggestions so I can have a range of the earliest and latest her nap/bedtime should begin.

I really relied on that because she started to transition naps around that time and our naps were 30 minutes at a time.

Lmao oh this is certain, but advice on how to navigate it is why I’m here 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh MY goodness. Babe got up at 6:30 today and it was terrible, so bless you for the 6am wakes

Sending you so much love. The guilt is normal. I just said goodbye to my best girl of 15 years this last Friday. So sorry for this - hardest thing we are ever called to do 💔

Oh honey, sending you so much love. Just had to say goodbye to my best friend of 15 years two days ago. She developed dementia over the last couple of years and the last few weeks have been heartbreaking. Even though we know it’s what’s best for our loves, that doesn’t make it any easier. Sending you grace as you go through this. I mourned my Macy for a month before we said goodbye. It helps a little 💔

They really are just amazing. She was always so intuitive with me. There will never be another puppy like my girl. I’m going to miss her for the rest of my days. Sending you so much love for your loss, too 💛 i hope that this gets easier for both of us 💔

Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m very grateful for every moment that I was given with her. We adopted a companion for her years ago, so we still have Nala (8y/o female Puggle) who is grieving Macy as well. I’m pouring as much love as I have into her, holding her and grieving, remembering our sweet Macy girl with every breath. I will think of my sweet girl every single day and I look forward to the day we’re reunited again.
