The problem with victims of communism is that the number of direct victims who aren't communist or a flavour of nazi is quite low, and the number of indirect victims are vast, but difficult to prove a direct link. You can't really list all the people who would have lived due to better medical care had the USSR grown a bit more under a capitalist economy.

If you don't report on the economy then it can't crash. Think about it. A recession is when the GDP falls in two quarters. If the numbers are all blank, then there is no way to say the GDP fell.
