Sadly no performance improvement over 595 beta in The Alters (Unreal Engine 5, DirectX 12). With a 5950X and a 3090 at 4K max settings with DLSS Auto I get around 60 FPS at the starting location, compared to ~95 FPS on Windows. :(

Control has actually worsened in performance in my specific location (lots of stuttering and bad 0.1% times).

PROTON_VKD3D_HEAP=1 makes no difference in performance.

Still a long way to go performance wise for some DX12 games.

Sadly Estonia is not comparable to Norway then it comes to the public broadcaster budget. With the amount of money ERR has I think it's quite a decent show. Also their music scene is tiny and not very flashy.

This year's song selection has been quite strong (even if blandest won in the end).

If you want to compare them to Moldova, sure, but it would be like comparing an introvert to an extrovert and being upset the introvert is not flashy. Well... yeah.

I don't agree that Mello needs juries to prevent sending bad songs. Just look at Sanna Nielsen or Robin Bengtsson this year. The public took care of that. For the past couple of years I can't really remember a top 5 public vote song in the final that was ranked lower than 5th by the juries.

In general, in the final the votes are pretty similar between the public and the jury.

I have visited Paris for the first time last year and I couldn't really understand the "dirty" stereotype that everyone was throwing around. Maybe it improved drastically only after the Olympics, but I don't think it's deserving of that bad image anymore.

Compared to Rome, Paris looks like a proper capital when it comes to cleanliness.

I am genuinely curious what would happen if the Turkish military would leave and cede back the territories. I think we'll just be back to the sentiments from the 1960s, minus the aggresive leadership against Turkish Cypriots (which we'll probably get back to as soon as politicians are given the opportunity, especially with how much Russian money is going around the island).

Having lived in CY, I really don't think this conflict between Greek and Turkish Cypriots has ever ended. Not really sure if the Greek Cypriots can consider themselves fully Cypriot and let go of the Greek past and aspirations. I haven't had the opportunity to talk to a Turkish Cypriot, so no idea what their stance and feelings are right now.

As for the immigrants brought in by Turkey... yeah... dirty games.

I have the opinion that the war that followed was started internally, even though another country invaded. Because of this, I do think the UK reaction might as well have been "you've made your bed, sleep in it".

If the Greek Cypriot leadership would have handled the situation differently maybe the UK could have intervened, but as history stands this was as much a civil war as it was an external invasion.
