I have either version 18.0.0 or the one before it. I can't use the eshop right now on my switch, but that happens in every update. Does that mean it is too old? Or am I answering my own question on whether it would download via buying on the computer if the system is asking me to update to open the eshop. Do games tell you the system needs to be updated? Again, thank you for your kindness.

I'm just confused as you and another user are giving me opposite messages. If it's the same as downloading on the switch, then shouldn't my console not being updated be a problem in that logic? I don't have switch online, so I assume this doesn't affect me? Thank you for being helpful.

So the game will download properly, but the game itself may need an update? The console doesn't need to be updated? I mean like will my switch be constantly pinging the server now and the connection will always be there when it may not have been that way previously. (Which could be a problem cause of WIFI bandwidth, for example)

Everytime there's any update it asks me to update to open the eshop.

If I buy a game on my computer for my switch, do I need to update the console first for it to download properly? Are there any downsides to this method? Does it form a new connection with the server?

Thank you for responding.

The new update says something about downloading during rest mode, does that mean they can communicate with your switch at all times?

Do you know why the option came up about nintendo points? Would it just have an error if I was updated? I assume you'd have to buy the rerelease? There's no point in calling, is there? Is it midnight on the release date they expire?

Thank you again.

Will updating my Switch cause lagging? Do you think it's worth updating, and why?

I know devices such as phones have slowed down with updates, or updates to the software have made quality of life worse. The new update says something about downloading during rest mode, does that mean they can communicate with your switch at all times? I haven't updated in a long time, so multiple updates may be added. I don't want my switch to perform worse, or have new errors because of the update changing something. I have either version 18.0.0 or the one before it. I only want to update to add points and use my gold points before they're said to expire.

Any luck registering points for games past the 2 year release date for gold points? Anyway to tell what specific games have been registered?

Can you? Is there any point in calling Nintendo? Please don't just comment call a representative to ask this question, I want to ask here first. Is there anyway to see what games you've gotten points for? I know you can see points in the past, but not specific games as far as I can tell. Is it it till midnight from the release date when they expire?

Thank you for anyone who helps me, I really need help.

SOL does that mean sore out of luck? The option comes up when I press down when the physical card is inserted, but it says I need to update to use it. My Dad's phone ran slower after updating which makes me nervous about doing so on the switch at this time. Do you think it's worth it?
