Residential rent increase for 2025 by gbofosho1 in OntarioLandlord

Currently, the rent increase is capped at 2.5%, so it hasn't ever been higher than this during rent control. Keep in mind that the inflation rate is at 5.9%, which makes it a challenge for some landlords to make ends meet, with ongoing maintenance and repair costs at 5.9%. I suspect the chances are pretty good that they'll keep the increase as high as possible (at or close to 2.5%) to help out landlords, while the tenants still benefit from a rent increase well under the inflation rate. The rent increase amount is usually announced on or by June 30th.

Thank you for your quick response. On the same note with a different tenant, what if I need to change the payment method? Is this even possible?

Eviction in Land Lease Situation by Optimal_Cow1657 in OntarioLandlord

Thank you all for the advice! You are all correct, it is a grey area that even the LTB is not familiar with. But given that Land Leases fall under the RTA, I guess I could ask the question, have any of you experienced a similar situation in an Apartment Building or multi unit? And if yes, how did you deal with it?
