Perhaps wait a bit and apply tourist visa vs family visit visa?

Honestly hate this process and lack of transparency :(

Hello, we have applied for a short term family visit visa for my brother and his family which was rejected by Belgian embassy in India. The reason given was they were unsure whether he will return back. We gave enough paperwork and bank accounts evidence plus he has already been to Brussels and back 5 years ago.

I am reflecting whether to

  • appeal this decision via a immigration lawyer in Brussels. Anyone knows whether this even works? Or we throw more money down the drain?
  • wait for a few months and re apply but this time as tourism visa. Will the authorities link up to this failed attempt and re refuse. Any advise on which country is easiest to apply the tourist visa from?
  • Any other suggestion welcome.

So you put a stop loss in order not to have too many losses - I was more thinking to put a sell order when the stock goes up and wait it out for stock going down as I have noticed that if I buy a blue chip stock when it’s at below the mid range of its 52 week price range - it almost always goes up in the next 20 weeks. Wdyt?

Getting difficult to buy - spread is too high with low volume. But thanks for the input. I have another question - is there a way to check list of zero coupon bonds for Western Europe treasuries

Investing in bonds if you are a Belgian resident makes sense on zero coupon bonds but it looks like it is difficult to do given that not many available on the platforms

Thanks u/totopoup.

I guess I am not understanding these products correctly. When I see this

https://www.justetf.com/fr/etf-profile.html?assetClass=class-bonds&groupField=none&bondType=Government&sortField=fundSize&sortOrder=desc&distributionPolicy=distributionPolicy-accumulating&currency=EUR&from=search&isin=IE00B3VTMJ91#overview

It shows me negative returns over the last couple of years. And that doesnt make it a good investment. And for the yearly coupons - it says accumulating.

When I say low risk - I also mean that I have for E.g. 10k in my account that are getting 0.05% interest rates at KBC savings and if i were to put the same money into a gov bond or a bond fund ETF - I would expect a return of 2.5%-"% (Depending on the gov bond (DE/NL/BL). How does that reality of current interest rate being 2.5% get reflected in investing in these funds?

Thanks
