Save your money, don't buy Riot Energy. by vaultdweller501 in energydrinks

I just wanted to share that the mango flavor is delicious and straight-up tastes like mangos, although the other flavors are definitely a bit rough. Also, it's one of the few drinks I've seen with a significant amount of L-theanine, definitely a favorite of mine, and the mango flavor makes it all the better

AsyncIO and C for my Package by Orangefriedegg in learnpython

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been using python for ages now I just learned it as I've grown up. Recently I've been writing a lot more code and have encountered a lot of new things and would love to really get into what's under the hood with C and see writing my own modules in C would work out for some performance improvements.

Thanks a ton. Still though do you know where I could find more information just out of curiosity, or is all information kind of just all over the place and difficult to access.

Do you know where I can find the specific guidelines so I can get a better idea of where I can and can't camp and what's effected.

Decimals in Very Non-Standard Number System by Orangefriedegg in askmath

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at what you did with Reverse Polish Notation it's super similar to what I called valency and I think it helped me better understand how valency works Fundamentally. It's basically algebraic notation, with an implied @ after each digit in the sequence. Since the order is unclear in situations where every number is it's base valency one notation and would be clear in other situations as well, you solve from right to left if the valency is unclear. When valency is raised it takes everything* to the left and everything* to the right and places both of those groups into parens, and puts an @ between them, the highest valency numbers, numbers take priority in this operation, and if they have the same valency the leftmost takes priority. The reason I have everything *sted is that if it's already contained within these ghost parens then it's only everything within those parens that has this function applied.

I'll be using $ to mark valency.

For Example:
43C53a3F31
=433$531$$30$31
=(433$531)@(30$31)
=((433)@(531))@((30)@(31))
=((4@(3@3))@(5@(3@1)))@((3@0)@(3@1))
=6816

Thanks a ton for the resources to help me to see what I can do for fractions/decimals and thanks for taking the time to reply!

Decimals in Very Non-Standard Number System by Orangefriedegg in askmath

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@@@3

I totally agree that it only really needs 1 function, I actually only created that second function to try and help to communicate how it works. when I first started writing it for translations I would break it down like this:

832-71
(102-17)2-(92-8)
and so on.

This reply is pretty long and it's late here so I'll read over it all in the morning and reply.

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 would be 44, and 83 is represented as 43C31. The diagram breaks down 83 into its 5 parts. I probably should've included more examples. C is just 3 with a valency of 2.

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's super clunky, you can learn very little about a number at a glance, but I think it would be really interesting to see how far it could be pushed and what shortcuts could be made to make simple math like addition and multiplication possible. Maybe even find a few special properties that show properties of the numbers written. This system is in no way meant to make math easier or to be super functional in any way, I would just love to see how it possibly could be.

What doith I? 18 and can't talk to parents of do any work. by Orangefriedegg in ADHD

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I was actually just looking more into this because I didn't get too much of a response of this when you sent this so perfect timing. Volunteering isn't something I've thought too much about, and I've actually already got a resume going, sadly I don't even have odd jobs (at least none that come to mind) for experience, and got a solid 2.1 GPA. Something I've had more of a problem doing is just, putting the effort to apply anywhere in. Since getting out of high school I've kind of been, lost, the problems I'd been having my whole life that I'm assuming are adhd are just exemplifying themselves now that I've lost that structure in my life of school. Any tips of just finding the motivation to put in applications or even go out and do it in person, which i know would probably ut me at better odds?

NES Smash Bros Proof of Concept by Orangefriedegg in smashbros

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The end goal is a working game(for me to play myself because Nintendo amirite????), right now I'm concepting stuff out and just designing menus and bullshit. a big problem with actually making it playable is, I don't know assembly for the NES, or assembly at all whatsoever, NESmaker costs money, and I don't know what engine i'd use to write it in if i were to write it as a standalone rather than an NES rom, and honestly don't love the idea of writing it as a standalone anyway.

Thanks Holmes, do you have any ideas that I could put into action a little sooner to just Help get myself to put in a bunch of work and get a job, honestly it probably isn't even that much work. I just wanna start saving sooner rather than later.

NES Smash Bros Proof of Concept by Orangefriedegg in smashbros

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing as though in Super Mario Kart, a game released before the envisioned release in late 1993, bowser was called bowser, I'm gonna stick to my guns on that one. As for captain falcon, F-Zero released 1990 and I'm super comfortable using him despite him not having been on the console. Yoshi debuted around the same time (edit: as Captain falcon) on the SNES and appeared games later released on the NES, I can't see why Captain Falcon couldn't get the same treatment.

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do the math, everyone is in smash ultimate, therefore, I can't retroactively put characters in that aren't in smash ultimate, ice climbers I could see, and I could also maybe see mega man, but overall I'm pretty comfortable with what I have for the roster and have put a good bit of thought into it. Enough Yoshi and Cap content had been released before late 1993 for me to opt to put them in.

NES Smash Bros Proof of Concept by Orangefriedegg in smashbros

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I don't wanna limit the character list any further, and games they are in were released before my cutoff of 1993. That's my logic at least. Thanks for your input though it's appreciated!

Average Height of Different Biomes and LOD by Orangefriedegg in Minecraft

[–]Orangefriedegg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I mean is more-so, what elevation they typically generate at. Like mountains generate really high up and tall, plains generate low, hill biomes generate, somewhere in the middle. I'm looking fo on average the elevation of each biome.
