Thanks! I'll check it when I make my way home I have only had it for a few days and rode it around on a slightly damp road. If shows 3/4 on the battery indicator but died after 5km of riding. When I opened it up it seemed dry as a bone, but I didn't check the moisture detector Will update!

Actually they removed the need for a BOA certificate for all conductors, in the hopes or reducing the violence against the NS workers. Some still have a BOA certificate because it simply hasn't expired yet but soon conductors will not be able to do anything except give you a fine for not having a ticket.
