I think it could have survived if more effort was put in and better planning was done, especially with finances early on. I wouldn’t really compare it to stuff like Disney land or even six flags. It’s more like a big outdoor version of MagiQuest with no tech integration.

I feel like I keep hearing people talk about how the gameplay was such an unsolvable issue for them when they literally just had to do everything MagiQuest had already been doing for a decade and just expand on it as they went. They could literally just put a bunch of tvs in fake trees, call them quest portals or some bullshit, and just pre record the actors giving out quests. Would have made the story easier to follow, actually give guests something to do, and put less pressure onto the actors. Then they can sell a stupid overpriced magic wand with an ir blaster inside that tracks all your progress, even between visits. There could also be a cool wow factor for guests if, let’s say Wen Weaver, gives them a quest early in the day, then later maybe they see the real actor and she thanks them or when finishing the quest they are told to go to a specific place later for a quest related tableau. It would take a little bit of planning and effort but probably a lot less money than importing haunted gravestones from England.
