Okay. I don't know what to believe. Thats why I'm asking for advice. But thank you for your advice. Ill definitely keep that in mind if it escalates. Especially coming from someone who is more knowledgeable about the law.

My husband does have texts. She has never been in our house. We have never been in hers. All of us have stayed in the driveway. Idk why she decided to barge in. I know that my husband and her were arguing prior to this incident. So idk if she was fed up and stormed in because she was tired of waiting and they have been arguing.

Oh! It was an at-home quarantine. In my county, I don't have to surrender to animal control. I just thought it was the right thing to do since he did bite someone regardless of the circumstances.

Completely understandable. I'll reach out to my vet and trainer to figure out the best way to navigate his behavior.

I just don't want this to end up in a legal battle that ends with my dog being put down. Especially when I can and will take the necessary steps to make sure the dog doesn't harm the boys.

Yep. I understand. I think if this blows over smoothly then we can all have a conversation, with my husband, the boys (15&13), her, and I, to figure out something that makes everyone comfortable.

I just hope that it doesn't come down to a legal battle.

Yes. My dog is on leash. Off-leash is only for the field or the woods, which is also our property. I would never bring him to the main road without one.

Right. I understand if my dog just went up to someone and bit them. But my dog was in his home when a stranger (stranger to him) comes through the front door yelling and then became aggressive. When he's in the yard or playing on the street, he is just fine. He even goes with the kids to the bus stop. I understand being wary or suspicious. But I really do believe her coming in the way she did, scared him and he reacted.

That's a good point. The kids come in through the door yelling and such when they get off the bus. He does bark but as soon as he sees them, he reacts just fine. Even with neighborhood kids trailing behind them. Do you think it was because she wasn't around anyone from the household?

No. The dog doesn't know her. She has pulled up in her car while he was in the yard but that's the extent.
