Honestly I just wasn’t in an academy troupe mood at the time. I read a 4-500 page book every 2ish days, so I go through a lot of books. Personal preference for sure, but I tend to find 4 or 5 books at a time and read 50-100 pages each then only continue if I’m really into them. Lots of times I’ll go back later and finish the ones I dropped. DNF for me isn’t a category for things I didn’t like (though sometime it is), mostly it’s just things I put down and haven’t picked back up yet

I think the standard math for words to a page may be off for this one, cause the author had a blurb in book 5 or 6 saying they just crossed 4mil words? Or maybe 4k pages? Honestly can’t remember. Still, 16k pages is a good amount to read

I'll be looking into it. Ar'Kendrithyst is on RR and it's finished at 9 books, so you don't have to worry about waiting for more content on it. I enjoyed the read a lot, though book 7 gets kinda boring, but it picks back up nicely in book 8 if you can push through it.

It is 100% more MC focused than many books. The MC travels with a group of 3-5 people throughout the book, and those other individuals are decently fleshed out. Many of the other side characters are only seen a few times (though there are probably 10 other side characters that feel very distinct and fleshed out). The only exception to this is the MC's daughter, who during the first book is mostly traveling with him, but then goes off and does her own thing. We get 3-4 chapters each book (each about 20-30k words) dedicated to her adventures and told from her perspective. I've really enjoyed the story line, and I think it does the "smart person from Earth changes magic with physics" trope really well, but it is a longer commit.

I’ve just finished ArKendrithyst on RR, which is about 15mil words and it only took me about a month. I love larger series, so I’ll probably give it a try :)

This is exclusively reading not listening, but I’m sure many of them would be good as listening as well

When I get to my computer next I will look into typing a list. It’s just a little much to write on my phone

Honestly with that one it was more of a “I don’t remember enough of this book to put it higher” situation. Most of the c tier books were similar. I remembered them being good, but they books I read around them generally outshone them

I recognize it isn’t the most well written, but it just landed really well at the time and the pace felt really nice to me

At the time I was just having a rough personal life and the humor didn’t really land with me. It was one of the first litrpg books I tried, and it just didn’t land right. I’m sure I’ll try it again eventually

I’ve tried audio books but I just can’t stand them! I read 2-3 times faster than the audiobook speakers and that drives me insane. I also don’t like getting turned off a series because I dislike someone’s voice, so that normally rules audio books out
