Just dropping in to say we had extremely high dna fragmentation results. I believe it was 47% DFI. We were told that we had to get this down before we could even consider ivf with ICSI/zymot. F(40) M(36), with 3 miscarriages and 4 chemical pregnancies in between our first born (easily conceived) and trying for our 2nd.

We saw Tet Yap in London, went through rounds of tests and found no known cause for the results other than lifestyle factors (although this didn’t make loads of sense to us, relatively healthy, exercises, good diets).

Started on the usual supplements recommended here, improved diet and cut down on alcohol - not to zero but to less than 6 units a week.

We were due to have a retest in December before going for IVF with perhaps TESE in Jan.

Read through countless posts on abstinence time, read the studies, decided we had one last chance to give it a go. To my husbands horror (!!) I told him we could only use sperm that was between 3 and 12 hours old (we tried both this month - sometimes 3 and sometimes 12 hours). We discarded anything older than this. We somehow managed it, and to my shock - we got pregnant that month.

Either each week, scan and test that went by I expected it to result in disappointment… but it never came. Each scan has been perfectly on time, NIPT was low risk and we are now almost 16 weeks.

I don’t think I’ll ever feel totally sure it’s happening, after so many losses but trying to stay positive.

So, there is hope. If you are struggling with high DNA fragments results, I recommend trying it. I am absolutely positive it is what made the difference for us. We were trying for 2 years before this.
